I have 3 wedding bands, he only has one. The simple reason is I misplace them, so I go out and purchase another one to replace the missing one. We started with his and hers, the diamond all sparkling and pretty. But I'm not much for jewelry, so I take them off at home. And that's where the problem lays.
After a friend lost her huge diamond in the dirt while gardening, we bought the plain gold band. I wasn't going to let that happen to me! NO way, not me, I don't lose things.
Then I lost the gold band, and for a few months I wore nothing, but I missed it. When most of your customers know that you just got married, going ring less is like a bush fire, the divorce rumours start fast, and spread faster, not good!
So we bought the silver band, and now I just wear whichever one I can actually find when I go out the door. Funny how they always seem to get lost.
I am not sure if this guy has anything to do with it, but I found the gold ring on his crown the other day.
So.......are you a loser or not? And how many wedding bands do you have, or should I say had?
Or do you lose other things, car keys, books, phones, people?
Do tell, this should be interesting!
I lose glasses - my husband says they should be stapled to my head!
ReplyDeleteI can see perfectly well at distance, but cant see my own hand in front of my face, so need to remove my glasses whenever I am not doing close work; therein lies the problem!
Ho Hum.
I'm not much of a loser....too organized. Although with advancing age, I'm finding that I'm getting much more scattered than I ever used to be. So, perhaps, I lose my thoughts...
ReplyDeleteWhere was I? Oh yea, on the subject of rings, I take my jewellery off when I wash my hands. When I was married, I left my wedding band/engagement ring on public bathroom counters more than once. I always got them back though....just like a bad penny.
Ooooo....did I say that out loud?! ;o)
Guess I'm a looser, Jen! Not too bad about misplacing or loosing 'material things' except the most valuable, my short-term memory, which seems to be waning a bit, expecially during hectic holidays ;)
ReplyDeleteROFL...thought I was the only one! Actually I took my wedding band off during one of my pregnancies (not sure which there were soooo many!) because I was swelling so badly I thought they would have to amputate my finger to get the darn thing off. So into the jewlery box it went and stayed and well its been at least 10 years now...I hope its still there...better go check...but where is that darn jewelry box?
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute post! I'm not a loser but I have a sister who misplaces any/everything. I hardly ever wear jewelry, not even wedding rings, but I know right where they are. Now that you mention it, the rumors might be flying!
ReplyDeleteThings I lose regularly: my mind, myself in a good book or time when blogging; my glasses and my keys my keys my keys!
ReplyDeleteHi misplacer. (See, I'm being nice today) You come up with the most interesting photos. Love the froggie king with his ring. And I don't lose things. I put them in special places, and as long as I don't go looking for them, they're neither lost nor misplaced.
ReplyDeleteToo funny. I misplaced mine on purpose...as soon as the divorce papers were signed.
ReplyDeleteHave I thanked you lately for following my blog? It may seem like I've got a funny way of showing it, changing my blog address the day before my first giveaway and screwing up everybody's links. What an idiot I can be...Anyway, if you haven't had a chance to enter the giveaway because you can't find it, try the old address, http://the7msn.blogspot.com , and be sure to enter. Blogger assures me the pointers will be going in the right direction soon.
Amazingly enough, I've never lost my wedding band. Strange but true. I lose all sorts of other things...I guess I don't lose the band because it's cheap :) If it was expensive I'd probably have lost it long ago.
ReplyDeleteWhen hubby and I were married neither of us had much money. We ordered our bands for 49.99 from the Sears catalog, lol! I had a good laugh later when I found out one of my friends had been endlessly searching fancy jewelry stores for a band just like mine :)
Zoe, it is a good thing that you can see far, being nearsighted there is no hope for me to find anything without my glasses.
ReplyDeleteCarolynn, you are tooooooo cheeky! Love it!!!
Joey, with all that you are accompishing right now, it is amazing that you can even know your name. When is the novel going to be published?
Inadvertant Farmer, see us misplacers really are organized, everything is just in a "safe place." Can we be blamed that we don't recall where the safe place is?
Mildrid, see what I mean, and really it doesn't take that long for those rumours to start. LOL.
Quirky Quest, we should start a key recovery group. Let me know when you finally find yours.
Flydragon, next time I lose something, I am claiming it is in a very special place.
7msn, found your new site, very nice, went and entered, thanks!
Blossom, see I knew it was a really good thing that we never bought into the huge expensive ring myth. Good thing we never got the $20,000 ring that I first fell in love with. Could you just imagine loosing that?
Gar thought that I had lost my keys, AGAIN, but after frantically tearing everything apart, there they were right where they were supposed to be. I had to laugh, since I had just finished writing this post.
Jen
I kept losing my purse. I usually lose things that I put in a perfect place..now where is that? Who remembers?? I do not wear my diamonds,( I lost one of the diamonds, had it replaced and the setting repaired and put them safely away) I wear a small white gold band I never take off. I am currently searching for a newspaper article, I had it, I also found the newspaper I cut it out of..someday when I least expect it..I will find it:)
ReplyDeleteI'm a misplacer and a weird things happen that aren't my fault....I lost my engagement ring diamond in a car accident (the stone had been my grandmothers). Then I lost the replacement which was a lovely emerald anniversary ring...I left it in our house when I moved, the realtor mailed it to be but it was lost in the mail. I caught my band on the halter of a horse which torn it apart which was lucky for my finger. My hubby gave me his which got lost down the drain because it was to loose. I am now wearing a cocktail ring because I can't be without....there is something about jewelry that doesn't want to stay with me.
ReplyDeleteI havent had my wedding band long enough to lose it yet, but I used to dream about losing it all the time.
ReplyDeleteI lose clothes...I dont know how, because its not like I take them off in public! But I lose them...poof! gone!
I never take my wedding band off because I am definitely a loser. I misplace my cell phone, purse and jacket nearly every day.
ReplyDeleteHmmm... good questions indeed, my dear friend. I'm not a habitual "loser" BUT every once in a while I'll put something important in a really good "safe place" and then I can't remember where that "safe place" is. Ever since I was a toddler I've been lousy at looking for things. My mom cites the home movies of me insisting there are now strawberries in the strawberry patch. Even now, I get the "no strawberries" feeling every time I misplace something. Hubby has to come to my rescue all the time. ~~Cindy
ReplyDeleteI have never seen anyone lose things like my dear sister mdboots. Always frantically searching for her wallet or keys, the one time her wallet was missing(stolen),no one believed her. Little gardener who cried wolf.
ReplyDeleteturf toter
I don't go anywhere to have misplaced anything! Now that could qualify me as a "loser", don't ya think?
ReplyDeleteI've never taken my wedding ring off since it was placed on my finger so many years ago. Guess my Mom placed that in my head as her and Dad have been married 61 years and she has yet to take hers off.
The only thing I might lose, but would rather call it misplaced (because losing my mind, I,m not too fond of...)would be my garden tools in the summer as I jump from one flower bed to the veggie, back to another flower bed. I do get distracted while tending my passion.
Ah... chiming in late here. I know the feeling.I lost an heirloom engagement ring that belonged to my grandmother -- it fell off my finger in the ocean and that was that; Then I lost my engagement ring and wedding band; then I lost the replacement silver band --Celtic design -- I loved. I know.
