There is no place like home!

Gar and I spent Christmas Day in a rather different fashion, but we were glad to be able to have done it that way. We picked my Dad up at a Vancouver Hospital, and drove him to the Airport, and waited with him, until he made his flight. Up in the Okanagan, my sister, and BIL picked him up, and took him home. He suffered a heart attack earlier in the week, and was flown down in a Air Ambulance. Unfortunately they did not offer a return trip, and there were many worries about how to get him back, with the road conditions as poor as they were. I cannot thank the staff at West Jet enough, for their compassionate and caring attitudes. Every step of the way, they offered assistance, and reassurance. They allowed me to stay with my Dad all the way through security, and to the boarding gate where they took over and helped him onto the plane. Thank you West Jet, for all your help!
We are glad that it is over, because as you know, there is no place like home.

  3. Oh Jen - how worrying for you. But how pleased I am to hear that he is now home.

My mum has had several heart attacks, operations and strokes... and she would agree - there really is no place like home!

  4. I'm glad to hear that your Dad got the help he needed and is well enough to go home. I spent a.lot. of time at the airport this weekend and it was a mess. I'm a big fan of Westjet, too. They do a lot of things right.

  10. So glad he made it home. You don't hear people actually complimenting an airline these days. Glad they treated y'all right. Best wishes for your dad's recovery.

  13. Yes, a different Christmas for you, but a wonderful one too! Wonderful that you were able to be together! So glad your Dad was able to make the journey Home...there truly is nothing sweeter than Home Sweet Home!

I love the melting snowman...it is like he's watching the waning of the season ~go out with the tide.
My prayers will be with your Dad, Jen, that he mends quickly and returns to his usual self soon!
