Blooming time

BC is having some spectacular weather, with temperatures reaching above summer normals. Everywhere you go, people are happy, and contented, commenting on the beautiful sunshine. After the shock of a few cold and rainy days, we are appreciating this sun even more.
It will come to a end, but while it lasts even the flowers are looking better than they have for a long time. We went for a walk on Sunday, and Gar sat on the bench in the park, while I shot flower photos to my hearts content.
It was peaceful and relaxing, and we needed it. A busy work week, a overnight guest, and just life, things that happen to everyone. It was so peaceful to be together, and sit in the sun.
I had met a new blogging buddy on Saturday. Carolynn, from a Glowing Ember, who suggested that we meet at the garden centre. We had a great time checking out the plants, shooting photos, and discovering how much we liked each other's company.
While I express myself best with photography, Carolynn weaves the most amazing words to describe a event. So click on the links above to read the story of our day. Her writing is eloquent, thoughtful, and interesting. A new blogging buddy, sunshine, and warm temperatures, what more could I ask for?

Button, button, who's got the button?

Remember that game? We used to play it as kids. Someone in the circle would hide a button in their hands, and the kid outside the circle had to figure out who had it. When the correct guess was made, they could change spots. The button would be shuffled to a new person, and the game went on.
Well something popped up in Blogger the other day, and as observant as I am, it only took me a week to figure out what it was.
There is a button on my blog that allows readers to follow my posts
Thanks to everyone who has signed up! I really do appreciate it, and every time the number jumps, it makes my heart sing.
My question is how do I sign up on yours? I have tried, and searched, and looked, but to no avail. I know that I can sign up on my own blog. I even accidentally rated myself on technorati, anyone know how to undo that?
What am I doing wrong, and where are your buttons?

Oh the things I meant to do today......

Really, there were things that I was supposed to do today. That is if I could remember them.
After having the thoughts wake me up in the middle of the night, they then fled like a nightmare on the run. At least with a nightmare you can remember the details.
So today I am not going to do what I was supposed to do. Instead, I am going to do what I want to do. That is visit with a old friend, and later visit with a new friend.
And then, I am going to visit a book, ah I remember books, it used to be my favorite hobby, next to gardening. And then we got a computer. And then, I discovered blogging. It all went out the door from there. Goodbye garden, hello blogging.
Photography takes up quite a bit of my time, and email. All your blogger comments come via email, and I can't seem to leave the house without checking my email. First thing back, check the email. My GA is laughing at me, when he wonders where I have gone, he knows to check the computer. Well maybe that's what we get, for getting computer literate so late in life.
And Sundays for the next little while, I think are going to be "Silent Sundays" I am just posting photos with the caption "I am in the Garden". I need some time to get back to my friends. All 45 bloggers of you that are on Google Reader, and all of my "in person friends".
Have a great weekend, I know that I am going to.

Hither and Dither? It must be the weather.

Do you ever get those days, where nothing seems to get done? All you do is run around frantically, trying to remember what was so important when you woke up in the morning, and absolutely had to get done. But for the life of you, you can't remember it? Well, I seem to be having a week of that. I just can't concentrate, can't seem to remember things, my routine is disrupted. But then so is Bootsie's. His routine has been drastically disrupted, we are not sure if it is his "person" going back to school, or the cooler weather. But poor Bootsie is wandering back and forth distractedly from our place to theirs. He will come in, beg for food, leave, and go away. Five minutes later, he is sitting on the potting bench outside our bedroom scratching on the window. He passes the wide open patio door to reach the potting bench. But when we call him, he seems surprised that we are home. Maybe it is the weather. Today I had to turn the electric heater on in the bathroom, just to take the dampness out of the air after our showers. We leave the fan on, and the electric heater running for a few minutes to stop the mildew from taking over. My work room with the computer in it, is near the bathroom door, and while I can not see into it, I can hear noises. There was a funny ticking noise, and when I investigated, this is what I found. Bootsie had discovered the electric heater, and it was oscillating back and forth. When it passed by him he would reach out a paw and tap it, trying to get it to stop in front of him. That cat knows how to find his creature comforts. Could this mean he knows something about a upcoming hard winter that we don't know? Or is he just looking to cosy up on a chilly, rainy day? All I know, is that summer is definitely gone around here. What about you? Do you have frost yet? Are your leaves starting to turn color? What signs of fall are happening where you live? This morning we saw a rainbow, and that is a unusual occurrence!

Are you a lonely blogger?

Are you a lonely blogger? Is anyone else in your life a blogger, other than the people who read your blogs? Why do we blog? The reasons vary, some blog for fame, some blog as a online journal to record important milestones in their life. While others blog just for the sense of community, knowing that you are sharing common interests, we all have our reasons, and I would like to know yours.
Tell me, why you blog, and what made you start?
I know of no one else personally that blogs, other than the wonderful people whose blogs I read, and those who read mine. We share a community, a sense of togetherness. I consider them my friends. Thank you friends, it has been good to meet you! In fact when I started to blog, I was a little sceptical of the whole process. I thought that most bloggers were politically oriented or just slightly not all there. Some sort of oddball person, who collects only the green Lego's pieces made before 1970, and looking for friends who wanted to play with them. I started because it gave me a outlet to post some of the photos I was taking. This way I would not have to email my long suffering friends the endless slide shows and photo files that I was currently filling their in boxes with. When I first told friends that I started a blog, it was almost apologetic, can you believe it, yes me, a blog? I know, now I am one of those people. Now, I have no problem saying, yes I write a blog, and I really enjoy it! And I enjoy the people I am meeting through my blogging. There are some amazing people out there, and they have interesting stories to tell, and I for one, am looking forward to hearing them. So let me know, what made you decide to blog?

Favorite Things......

Bekah, at Country Mouse, who is one of my favorite bloggers, wrote a post the other day, asking us to blog about our favorite things, and then link them. You can read her post here.
Here are some of my favorites, glass art pieces. The turquoise lantern is marvelous, when the afternoon light hits it, there are disco sparkles all over the room.
Glass hearts, nestle in the window sills and take up barely any room.
All the hearts, and vases are from a local artist. Robert Held. https://www.robertheld.com/country.php?osCsid=5d9c98e008704449f1a440689e44f2b6
What are your favorite things?

Dear Ann Landers,

Dear Ann Landers, whats a gardener to do? He loves chickens and crows, I love dragonflies, and pears.
And over the years we have accumulated a few too many of all of them.
It seems that friends and family, upon learning that we adored them, have gone overboard in giving us new and beautiful items to add to our collection.
While we appreciated what they have given us, we have officially run out of extra space to display anything else.
How can we display everything, and still have room to live? And how do we tell our friends and family that there is no more room? We cannot pear to part with any of the items that we currently have.
Ann, I hope that you can help!
Signed, "Crowwed out of house, and home."

OK readers, today, you are Ann Landers, what do we do? Do you have a solution?

A gift for you

I am going to give you something today, that we all say we need more of. And none of us ever seem to have enough of.
TIME,
A very short post, and some relaxing photos to gaze at. Use this extra time wisely. Give your sweetie a hug, maybe arrive early at work, unfrazzled, or even stop and watch the sunset tonight. Go ahead, today you have the time......

Need I say more?

Yesterdays post talked about letting Summer go, some agreed with me, some did not. I enjoyed hearing everyone's views on the subject.
I am letting her move on, with regret. I will miss her bright early morning sunshine, and long, vibrant sunsets.
Life is about change, and here in the Pacific Northwest, our seasons are well defined.
It's time, and it is happening whether or not we want it to. So goodbye Summer, we will remember you fondly, and we are looking forward to seeing you again next year.
