Cat fight tonight

Wondering about the title? Is it spring here already, are the Tom cats out on the prowl? This is a different sort of cat fight. One that hits closer to home, our condo is having it's Annual General Meeting, or as we like to refer to it, a chance for each owner to stand up and complain until they are asked to stop.
And the most important issue at stake, at least for us cat lovers, is the vote to to allow cats inside apartments. All the basics have been covered, where they can go, what to do about allergies, how they help lower blood pressure, are wonderful companions, and a great benefit to everyone.
It is the biggest topic at the daily mailbox coffee klatch, which way are you going to vote? Do you have a illegal cat?
After the last fight, we were defeated by only 3 votes, read what I wrote about the other side cheating, bullying, and intimidating the owners here. Ah feline fiasco's. So think good thoughts for us tonight. Prayers would help immensely, there are a lot of lonely people out there that could use a cuddly companion. I really do hope that we win, and if we don't, then there is always next year, and the year after that.........and the year after that. We will not give up.
I will let you know on Friday, which way it goes.

  1. For goodness sake!! Banning cats from coming inside? For real? What happens if you happen to be a cat owner? Do you have to move out?

    I cannot believe it!

  3. I think that's so ridiculous -- you OWN the condo, and as long as your cats stay inside it, I can't see how it would affect anyone else. Even those with allergies would be hard pressed to make you believe that your cats, doors or floors away, could affect them. What ever happened to live and let live? Ah well -- good luck and let us know how it all turns out. Keeping fingers crossed!

  4. Condos have the right to vote as a group on whether or not to allow animals, ect. Our Condo was controlled by a nasty group of people from the start over 30 years ago. I knew when I moved in 15 years ago that I would need to find my cat another home. And I found her a very good one, there were no Condos on the market when I bought, that would take cats. Which is a huge shame.

The people who own in here, are younger now, and actually think before voting. Let's hope that this time we can prevail.

    Thanks for all your support.

  5. I couldn't be without a companion animal in my life. I'll have a chat with the Big Guy and see if we can swing things in favour of Felines For All. Good luck tonite. I hate strata meetings....

    Beautiful roses, by the way!

  8. I am not a huge cat fan but I can see no reason to ban indoor cats whatsoever. You own the condo, you keep your cats in your own condo...what is the problem???

It is funny what people find to get in a huff about. Now a camel...that is something to get upset about, lol!

    Good luck tonight! Kim

  9. Although I'm all for having lots of pets, I have 2 dogs, 2 cats,2mules, 2 horses, an invariable amount of wild field mice, and used to have a large uncountable number of sheep, wild turkeys, and emu's, there are the occasional pet owners that cannot handle even one independant thinking kitty. Maybe the nay sayers in the condo complex are worried about the terrible smell that can result from unemptied litter pans, and the occasional male (and female) cats that spray everything in sight to mark their territory. This smell never goes away and can permiate the air for metres around the offending apartment. Even though I love my animals and could not do without at least one of them around to keep me sane from the jumble of life, there are situations which warrant rules about pet ownership. I hope your cat vote goes in your favour, but keep in mind that there are reasons why some would object, because once you go foward, if there is a problem with a cat owner it will be very hard to deal with it.

  12. Oh! I hope, I hope, I hope you win the vote! It doesn't seem right to not have cats allowed. I'm sure the vote has already happened by now (unless someone was long-winded). I really hope no bad tactics were used this year.

    Hugs,
    Cindy

  14. Dear Jen .. I so hope it comes out in favor of cats .. loving my girls past , present and future has helped so much in our stressfull lives. But some people are just entrenched in the idea that cats are smelly creatures that make you sneeze .. they miss out on a very special aspect in life .. fingers crossed, positive hopes for you and the others who need those furry souls in their lives !
