I'm in the Garden Archives

Thunderstorms and lightning last night, overhead lightning is much too close for my comfort. But it brought out the rain, and that was wonderful.
Came across these foxgloves on a summer walk last year, I love the deep pink, and I will have to check and see if they came up again this year.

  2. What stunning pictures Jen. I notice in that first one, the sun makes the "freckles" inside the bloom show through from the outside - amazing. Hope you have a great day and that the rain makes everything look fresh today.

  3. Don't know that I've heard of foxgloves before but they sure are pretty in pink. The cottage you mentioned in the previous post sounds very delightful. Hope the technical difficulties are all behind you now. Have a nice week coming up, Jen!

  4. Now I have your comment woes. Like a virus.
Foxgloves are the best plant you don't have to plant.

  5. I love foxgloves and you've captured them beautifully.

I love a summer thunderstorm. I grew up with them in Alberta. They would also blow our power out and we would all gather around the windows in the dark house and watch the lightening streak across the sky while my dad primed the kerosene lamp in the background. Spooky and exciting, like an adventure occurring in my very own home.

Last night I was crazy enough to spend three hours camped out on the beach in anticipation of the fireworks. My fingers were literally pruney by the time we headed for home. Not sure I would do that again...
