Fridge distractions

I am standing in the middle of my kitchen, holding the toaster in one hand, and the fridge door open wide with the other. I am indecisive, this is not like me, so I move forward. And try to find the space to put the toaster into the fridge. Mission almost accomplished, except the water jug, and the milk are in the wrong space, maybe if I just move those leftovers to the right hand side......whack! That is the sound of my brain going violently into reverse, "what do you think you are doing?" "The toaster belongs in the cupboard, the leftovers are for dinner, and shut the fridge door, you are wasting electricity." Somewhere along the line, the sugar got put into the recycling box, the toilet paper was put into the living room, and the mail, well we can't find it right now. We all have these distracted moments, where we misplace things, life gets a little hectic sometimes. And I am sure they have a name for it....... if I could just remember where I put that medical journal article, on forgetfulness.

  2. Oh, I am glad I'm not the only one! We have a frig in the laundry room and I am constantly opening the frig (instead of the laundry cabinet) to put in clothes!!! The photos in today's post are so sweet! Wishing you a nice day Jen.

  5. Oops - that's stress-related forgetfulness! I had a serious bout yesterday leaving my rucksack with all my cards and money in it on the train! (Got it back intact... God bless the honest Swedes!)

  6. You are cute! I do this all the time, walk into the bedroom with my finished cereal bowl and wonder " where the heck am I going with this bowl?" It is a funny thing, the human brain. Take care...
Maybe we all need to be on Gingko Biloba, those of us who forget where things go.

  9. Once...the chocolate ice cream went into the cupboard and bananas went into the freezer. And at that time...I was younger, I had no excuse for the mess-up. HAHA!

  10. Brain Fog is a word used for this and patients with Lyme Disease can suffer very badly with it. Not that I am suggesting you have lyme just that is the name given.

  14. Hey, are those double click rose bonbon cosmos? I grew some this year and have a few pictures to post eventually. Fun flowers, though the plants were gigantic in my garden.

  17. I think we all have those times. What is bad to put something someplace - the WRONG place and then you just cannot find it. OOOOHHH. Funny post. Have a great day and don't lose it.

  19. I can't remember who recommended your blog but I sure can see why. I love what I saw. I'm a writer...mainly humor and some nostalgia and will take awhile to get through your heart-felt offerings.

I have nearly stopped blogging several times but some one or some thing draws me back. For now I'm striving to contribute something worthwhile.

    You have a great talent

  22. Know the feeling. I was dividing meat into smaller packets of foil and was patting it stacked nicely in the cabinet and had put the foil away in the fridge! Then it finally dawned on me what I was doing.
