Is it possible to feel homesick for a place that isn't your home?Armstrong is not our home, but it pings my heart. Laugh at me, but when I look at the photos from there, I feel homesick. We belong there. One day.......
Jen that is how I feel about Italy yet I have never been there. It just calls to me when I see a picture. I have traced my family back to France in the late 1500's but maybe they had crossed the divides from Italy at one time. Who knows? It could have happened.
Where is Armstrong? I need to know because it is calling my name. Seriously. That is THE most beautiful, tranquil, peaceful, soothing picture. I needed that.
Gorgeous! I completely believe you can feel homesick for a place which isn't your home but you WISH was your home and it's obvious your heart has found it's true home and yearns for this place...hope your someday comes soon!!!
When we long to be somewhere it is important to remember the saying "home is where the heart is". If you keep your heart with you always, you will be at home no matter where you are. If we leave our heart behind somewhere, we will be searching for home. When the time is right Armstrong will be home for you, keep it in your mind and heart and the opportunity will come!
It looks so beautiful! There are quite a few places that I've seen pictures of and have a connection to but have never visited. Who knows where your heart may take you one day in the future. -Jackie
Absolutely! I feel that way for places in South Carolina and I've never lived there. Sometimes we are just meant to be in a place and our heart knows it.
Oh dear, it's nice to dream! I love my farm but when I look at the picture of my driveway all that I can see is how the fences need mending and the driveway needs to be plowed and treated with calcium to keep the dust down! Living in the country has it's pro's and con's, although I wouldn't want to live anywhere else except maybe in a nice new house with high cielings and wide windows on the ocean. Jackie
You will get there someday, for now I know you visit..I hope you get that house the one with the great front porches..I can see you there..camera and an apron feeding chickens and cuddling kittens:)
If you are going to dream, dream big!
ReplyDeleteLooks peaceful and beautiful! Go follow your dreams...

ReplyDeleteMakes me think of John Denver's "Rocky Mountain High" which says "coming home to a place he's never been before".
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty picture Jen. Old country roads are getting so scarce.

Dream! It shall come true.
ReplyDeleteI get homesick for two countries.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photo, road leading to home..
Jen, I totally get this. I feel that way about the South of France. I felt that way BEFORE I'd ever visited there.
ReplyDeleteI truly believe we can have a connection to a particular part of the world that speaks to our soul. Or is it our soul that is speaking to us?
Keep this dream sacred, Jen. It will come true for you. I believe that.
Blessings,
Carolynn
Country road...take me home. Lovely photo that evokes a lot of feeling in me,too.
ReplyDeleteIn my experience, it is VERY possible to feel homesick for someplace that I've never called home. I've been feeling that way today about the country.

As we use to say; Your home is where your hart is. I understand how you feel and also have dreams about a home in the countryside sometime... / gittan
