Life is better, walking in the park. It seems like the rain has brought a few clouds into every one's life lately.
We went to enjoy the feel of beautiful sunlight shining on our skin. There is a actual warmth from the sun, that contrasts against the crisp Autumn air.
During the week day the park is secluded, silent except for ducks quietly bobbing for food, and squirrels darting through trees. There are few other walkers, and if you don't come across them you can almost imagine that it is your own beautiful acreage that you are traversing.
We explored new trails, and discovered a few more bridges. Searched out fungi wrapped in winter shrouds of fallen leaves.
Together we stood still for a moment and drank it all in. The leaves that stubbornly refused to let go of branches, the greenness of the moss. The reflection of branches on pond water.
And came away happier. After all, life is better after walking in the park.

Good Morning Jen, Your pictures from the park make it almost possible for me to smell the dampness of the leaves and feel the sunshine on my back! Sunshine definitely lifts my spirits! Hope you have a nice weekend.
ReplyDeleteThanks for taking us for a walk in the park. Lovely

When I was a child I would love walks through the woods , and lay down and look at mosses and fungus's up really close. They were so fascinating.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures and I agree, life is better walking in the park.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures you paint, both with your camera and with your words.

Gorgeous photos. I especially love that one of the sunlight shining through the stubborn leaf on the tree.
ReplyDeleteWalking in the woods is the balm for my soul!
Jen, what a golden November day. I agree, life IS better after a walk in the park.
ReplyDeleteYour photos really captured the luminous slanting light of the late year. Lovely :)
Nice mushroom shot. Very warm.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your feedback about my font size. I've been trying to fix it but no luck yet figuring out which part of the CSS controls the comments font.
How true Jen. Sunshine [when and if] and fresh air and the beauty of nature are such necessities to mental health. I love the cluster of mushrooms. I almost expect a little elf to peak out. :)
ReplyDeleteLovely photos for this time of year. It's been a dreary November here too, and that turns me into a computer-potato.
ReplyDeleteI am in love with your photos Jen .. those little mushrooms ? with such depth and colour and the leaf glowing from the sun .. perfect !
ReplyDeleteI remember how rare it was to have sun during this time of year on the west coast and in the Netherlands .. I don't know how I survived it !LOL
Joy : )
I don't mind the rain at all. I think it makes everything sparkle. It smells so good too. There are lots of tall trees there. Be careful in the wind.
ReplyDeleteJen you have outdone yourself! What a lovely post...it makes me want to go for a walk. Too bad it is raining so hard here I couldn't see anything. Guess I'll wait till it clears and give it a try! Kim
ReplyDeleteHi Jen,
ReplyDeleteI have had a cold for a week, and my asthma has kicked in. I have not been outside much, but after reading this post late this afternoon, I closed my computer with your blog still up so I could remember to come back and tell you how much I enjoyed it. I knew I didn't have the energy to work, but Heidi was happy to run around while I walked around the yard. I made some fun observations in the flower beds, too. It was starting to get dark, so I didn't take my camera this time. Life is also better after being outside in your yard. I do need to take more advantage of our parks, though.
Lovely photos, too!
I love walking in parks, or the wood and seeing what all there is to explore.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos! I went exploring yesterday..today it is raining:(
