He is always warm, and turning down the heat, and
I am always cold, and turning it up.
There are commercials running on television sponsored by our local electricity provider, that tell you "blankets, are a nice way to stay cosy, and warm." Trying to convince customers that you can turn the heat down slightly if you use a blanket, or a extra sweater to stay warm.
Every time that commercial comes on, he has turned to me and said, " see they are telling you turn the heat down."
"But darling" I reply, "you need to turn it on first."
This has become a running joke in our poor little cold condo.
A friend of ours has described his own sweetie as having one degree of separation from being cold. It makes sense to me.
I have to do this in Celsius, but you will understand my meaning I am sure.
- If it is 19 degrees in the room, she is cold.
- If it is 20 degrees in the room she is perfect.
- If it is 21 degrees in the room, she is too hot.
I know how she feels.
Kind of makes you wish that guys had the same hormonal fluctuations that we do. Then they could be the ones turning up the heat, or the air conditioner that pivotal one degree.
First of all, what pretty colors in your photos today Jen! We have fits trying to regulate the temps in our home. Nalley is hot natured PLUS he has the warmest room in the house (his study) and I nearly freeze!!! Often, I walk around with a coat on which makes it hard to do very much! ha
ReplyDeleteI hear you loud and clear!
ReplyDeleteJ~
ReplyDeleteI agree..totally!
here we go by the adage..
If Mama ain't happy..
then NObody's happy..
therefore..
there are no temperature issues.
the thermostat stays put!
Warm hugs..
Loui♥
Your leaf pictures are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThe temperature in our house in the winter is nearly impossible to regulate. It's too cold downstairs and too warm upstairs. It's too cold when I get in the bed but I always wake up too warm during the night. The hormone fluctuations are definitely a problem here!
Love the photos! And the text too.. luckily, we all like the house fairly warm and cozy - around 21 C is perfect!
ReplyDeleteYou
ReplyDeleteI like about 22 or 23C which I believe is 72 or 73 F. Those darn old hot flashes.. I take my sweater off..then I put it on..I gave up on Sweatshirts years ago.
ReplyDeleteWonderful orangy leaf photos..:)
and the definition of a sweater is ... something the kids put on when Mom is cold!
ReplyDeleteSounds like around here. If he is just right then I am freezing. When he leaves I crank up the heat.
ReplyDeleteI love this post, Jen. I think you have accurately described about 90% of marriages where temperature is concerned.
ReplyDeletePS. I am sitting here at my computer with my heavy sock and slippers on and my feet are still cold.
Hi Jen~~ I love this! From day one of our 29 year marriage, my hubby and I have squabbled over temperature. Interestingly now that I'm a year away from 50, on the cusp of menopause, I'm perpetually warm and we're getting along splendidly. However, always a monkey wrench, my teenage daughters are always cold.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos! Are you getting slammed by rain and wind like we are?
Our bedroom window is always open so it is pretty darned cold climbing into those sheets. The upstairs is toasty warm except for one other bedroom that seems to be lacking some insulation somewhere. The downstairs has warm air from a gas fireplace but the floor is ice cold.
ReplyDeleteIf you are too warm here then you can take off your sweater. Cold? Put it back on. Wear your socks or not. We have to change clothes depending on where we are in the house at any given moment.
Age old problem with us.
ReplyDeletePatsy
Oh, that describes me perfectly. I don't handle extremes of heat or cold very well, while my husband does much better with either one.
ReplyDeleteLove the photos and I'm there with you. He's the cold one and I'm the hot one.
ReplyDeleteYou need a SNUGGIE!! lol I feel your chill my friend. I am always cold. I have a heating blanket on my side of the bed. ha ha
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pictures!! There is my red! Thank you Thank you I didn't get to see it here this year.
Oh I'm so glad it's not just us!!!
ReplyDeleteI am definately in the one degree of separation zone and Himself doesn't notice the temperature - unless I've turned it up a bit!
We even have 'his and hers' quilts zipped together - my side is 13.5 tog and his is 10.5 tog, with a thin fleece blanket on top of his side when it's very cold at night!
