Wish you were here......Missing you

Welcome to Hawaii, wish you were here....... Well if you were judging by these shots you just might think that you were receiving a postcard of a beautiful Hawaiian sunset. But no, this is sunrise on White Rock beach. And it was cold, so cold that I needed gloves, and a scarf, and probably a hat. Except, I don't wear hats, unless it is extreme conditions. This wasn't one of them. Welcome to White Rock, wish you were here. See, I knew that if I gringed enough about all the rain, it would stop, and the marvelous sun would come out. Of course with the sun comes the cooler temperatures, but hey, frost covered anything looks wonderful at any time of the day. Who's complaining? I got up really early, to get these shots, and I am sure that you appreciate that. Especially since it was my day off. Now we come to the "missing you" part of my post. I am still around, but I am working, and working, and working. This happens when you work retail at Christmas time. So consequently I have let my blog reading pile up a bit. I am trying to visit everyone, but I read a lot of blogs, and I promise to catch up on my next day off. Meanwhile, enjoy the sunrise, wish you were here.

  2. I'm not an early riser, so I see more sunsets and they're also beautiful. This is stunning. Thank you for going that extra mile to capture them.

I'm having time management issues and, more to the point, a lack of inspiration, so I've been very absent from my own blog of late. At least you're posting to your own blog while being crazy busy. So...you haven't been missin' much over at my place lately.

  9. Jen girl ... what can I say ? .. I so wish that I had been there too .. this is utterly stunning and you were so lucky to see this .. I would be up (what am I talking about .. I get up before 6 most mornings and boy .. I would be up at 3 AM if it meant I could catch this sunrise) .. so beautiful, thank you for posting it girl : ) I love it and yearn so badly for a red sunrise here .. it hasn't happened in literally months now and I am having terrible withdrawal pangs from not seeing one in person .. this was just what I needed : )

  10. Jen, it's just beautiful and on time for your day off. I've discovered that after years of waking up early for work it's rare to be able to sleep in! Thank you for the beautiful photos and for getting out into the cold. gail ps You would smile at all of us shivering zone 7ers this morning! It's 24 degrees.

  15. Hi Jen, we really do appreciate your getting up early on your day off for shots like that! I believed you were in Hawaii too, the colors seem appropriate for a tropical paradise. I hate to wear hats too, but putting the hood up on the hoodies is acceptable if needed. Don't work too hard and the blogs will wait for you. Isn't that one of the best things about them, once published, they are there forever, or so wordpress informed me. :-)

Meanwhile I think I can just manage a schedule of posting every second day. Look for me on Monday.
