January - One kind word

Today, I am publishing the January photo from the calendars I have had printed as family gifts. Each year I find something that inspires me to go in a different direction, this year it was added text, and quotations.

They are fun, and a little bit of work to make, but so worth it. I would recommend having your photos picked out, and edited before embarking on the project, it makes it much easier.

There are so many online programs that make it possible to customize this completely. Right down to the color of the font on your front page.

And since we are only at the start of the month, go ahead a make one for yourself. You won't regret it.

  4. Jen:
What a great idea. I have been feverishly looking for a new calendar, but haven't found one with quite the right plant selection! Of course computer programmes and I..... if the internet suddenly goes down, you'll know why!

  5. My daughter-in-law makes a calendar for each member of the family every year. She chooses family photos of each individual or groupings of families for the pictures. It's one of my favorite presents every year!

  7. Hi Jen! Gorgeous rose! I would add one more tip - to make a "trial" calendar in advance, to see what pictures didn't show up well, and make replacements if needed.

  16. Next year I'm going to make calendars for family members too, Jen. This year I just experimented with one for myself from an online service, and it looks quite decent, considering I tossed it together in about 15 minutes. I love the photo above and want to bury my nose in that inviting blossom. Happy New Year!

  19. Hi Jen,
I love your January photo! My husband surprised me with a calendar of photos from our 2007 vacation to the Outer Banks of North Carolina. He must have emailed or sent the photos somewhere, because it came in the mail. I haven't gotten my calendar yet. Maybe I will check into making one. I wonder how long it would take me to pick out the photos. LOL

    Happy New Year!

  30. Thanks so much for Tweeting for me. I am afraid it is gone forever. You know who I think took it? That woman who stole my fuschia basket this summer. She was driving around in an old motorhome and I think she decided she needed a new one......and I'm an easy target. Have you seen my post on that one? Check it out.
