Today, I am publishing the January photo from the calendars I have had printed as family gifts. Each year I find something that inspires me to go in a different direction, this year it was added text, and quotations.
They are fun, and a little bit of work to make, but so worth it. I would recommend having your photos picked out, and edited before embarking on the project, it makes it much easier.
There are so many online programs that make it possible to customize this completely. Right down to the color of the font on your front page.
And since we are only at the start of the month, go ahead a make one for yourself. You won't regret it.
January's photo is gorgeous!!! I have thought about trying to do this....think maybe I give it a try!!
ReplyDeleteHow very pretty that is. Hope you have a great weekend Jen.
ReplyDeleteA very lovely January image Jen! I love the quote too. I always mean to make a calendar, but never get it together. It is such a special gift and we all need one or two. You and Frances are inspiring. I must get on with it! Thanks for sharing! Carol
ReplyDeleteJen:
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea. I have been feverishly looking for a new calendar, but haven't found one with quite the right plant selection! Of course computer programmes and I..... if the internet suddenly goes down, you'll know why!
My daughter-in-law makes a calendar for each member of the family every year. She chooses family photos of each individual or groupings of families for the pictures. It's one of my favorite presents every year!
ReplyDeleteJen,
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful photograph, and a wonderful gift. I am inspired to try this for the holidays next year. Best wishes for the New Year!!
Hi Jen! Gorgeous rose! I would add one more tip - to make a "trial" calendar in advance, to see what pictures didn't show up well, and make replacements if needed.
ReplyDeleteIt makes a beautiful gift, Jen -- I particularly like this quote, too. :) Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteA beautiful way to start the New Year, Jen. Happy new decade :)
ReplyDeleteHello Jen,
ReplyDeleteI can only imagine how beautiful the remaining pages of your calendar are. I enjoy your photography so much. I am thinking you should create calendars to sell for next year :-D
Jen, what a lovely gift! Your photos and quotes always inspire. A very Happy New Year to you!

Now I have an excuse to go around to all the firehalls and photograph the men.
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful. I am still trying to figure out Corel so guess I hope make any calendars this year.
ReplyDeleteWhose kind words are you quoting?
ReplyDeleteNext year I'm going to make calendars for family members too, Jen. This year I just experimented with one for myself from an online service, and it looks quite decent, considering I tossed it together in about 15 minutes. I love the photo above and want to bury my nose in that inviting blossom. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteHiya Jen
ReplyDeleteI wish you a happy, healthy and prosperous 2010.
I look forward to seeing more of your wonderful photography.
Rob

Hi Jen,
ReplyDeleteI love your January photo! My husband surprised me with a calendar of photos from our 2007 vacation to the Outer Banks of North Carolina. He must have emailed or sent the photos somewhere, because it came in the mail. I haven't gotten my calendar yet. Maybe I will check into making one. I wonder how long it would take me to pick out the photos. LOL
Happy New Year!
Hi Jen! Now that was a perfect picture and quote for your January month for the calendars. A gorgeous rose.
ReplyDeleteI made one for my daughter one time and it was fun to do.
ReplyDeletePatsy
Breathtaking, Jen! I love the idea of the text added, something I neglected to do this year, but will definitely add next. Having the photos all ready is an important tip, a real time saver. :-)
ReplyDeleteFrances
Beautiful! I love the quote! One of these days I hope to make a calender out of some of my pictures!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful..your family is very lucky! My daughter Jen made me one using some of my photos and some of hers it is a wonderful gift! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous picture - and words too! I made calendars for the family too this year, and for my parents I put together a huge glossy photo book with my photos and words.

ReplyDeleteThat's beautiful, Jen. I'd love to make a calendar and a book. I just never seem to get organized in time and then, pfft, there goes another year.
ReplyDeleteThat's a lovely idea. Many thanks for the suggestion. I must have a go.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for Tweeting for me. I am afraid it is gone forever. You know who I think took it? That woman who stole my fuschia basket this summer. She was driving around in an old motorhome and I think she decided she needed a new one......and I'm an easy target. Have you seen my post on that one? Check it out.

Its an Amazing Shot.... The flower looks as if its been made of crinkled Paper rather than petals. Bright n Beautiful. Thx for Shring the picture!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Ahead!
What a beautiful rose. For the last couple of years I've made a calendar for my husband's office rooms. It was a bit of work but worth it!
ReplyDeleteJen...that took my breath away. Thanks for the gift on a cold, dreary, wet Washington Monday morning! Kim
ReplyDeleteThis is such a great gift idea. I know that I am always looking for a great calendar to hang by my phone every year. And these are so personal.
