He’s sorry, so sorry..

2010 02 28 016

He says he is sorry, so sorry.

He never meant to go out in the afternoon, stay out all night, and not show up until 8:00 am this morning.

“See, the guys were running around in the dark chasing mice, and things got out of hand, and I kind of forgot the time.”

Frankly Bootsie, I was worried sick, and I didn’t sleep barely last night.

“ I don’t understand!”  “You never let me do anything fun at all!”

Why can’t you just come home when we call you?

“Your not the boss of me.”

We will see about that Bootsie, now no catnip, and go to your blanket, you are grounded, and you have been a bad kitty.

Jen

  3. Ah He is so good looking. Love this photo. Love this cat. You may want to get him a reflective collar so he'll be visible in the dark. Be prepared to buy lots of them, cats manage to get them off.

  4. My cat used to vanish for several days at a time! She always came back, luckily.

  5. Isn't it just the yuckiest feeling when you can't find your animals...?

  6. Out prowling huh? How can you get mad at that adorable face - cute post.

  7. See...this is why I only have indoor kitties. There are only so many places they can hide. *smile*

I'm glad he showed up alright after his night of carousing.

  8. Oh Jen, I bet you were worried sick. You feel so helpless when you call and they don't come running.
We have several "cat towers/stands" that our cats have demolished the carpet on. Today, I was fortunate enough to find a local carpet co. who is going to recover ours for us. I got tickled when they ask me to choose a color - like the cats care!!!
Hope you have a nice weekend. I'm glad beautiful Bootsie is ok. What a pretty photo.

  9. Your lucky he was only out all night - our Bones disappeared once and was gone for almost a year! We found out he'd been about half a mile away the whole time...he sure seemed happy to be brought home, so apparently he just doesn't have the same sense of direction that other cats are so famous for!

Well your blog makes me smile every morning (especially since Spring comes to your garden so much sooner than it comes to mine!) so I awarded you the Sunshine Award - you can pick it up over at my blog. No pressure to 'accept'...I just wanted to share your blog with others and let you know I appreciate it!

  10. Grounded, how hilarious! I am sure you were so worried, so many things that can happen outside at night to sweet kitties. So glad he came home, but I would keep him there for a while too. You need your sleep! :-)

  12. I worry about my cats when I can't find them when it is time to feed them. They stay outside but when they don't show up for food, I start calling and looking til they mosey up to me and wonder why I look so worried. I have a tuxedo cat too, his name is Elmo plus Taz, Bijou, Sasha, Lily and Jack.

  13. I think he is saying that you are most mis-informed if you think he intends to be grounded. :-) What a cutie!

  16. I think it a huge blessing these darn cats are so cute, for it makes it very difficult to stay mad at them for long. Glad to hear that Bootsie returned home safely. Perhaps he has found himself a sweetheart?!

  17. He's a beauty Jen, a misbehaving beauty! The closed door, the next yard, just over there...are all attractive to cats! I would be beside myself if Coal escaped~in fact, he's pushed through the screen door, twice. Once I found him huddled outside afraid and the second, time he had a chipmunk in his mouth. We do love them~Gail

  18. But such a cute face! I wouldn't be able to chide him with that face staring at me, I'm afraid.

  20. Aw, I love Bootsie's moustache; he's such an elegant kitty, even if a misbehaving one.

Weirdly enough, our cat Leo drove me to distraction with worries today. F. let him out at 5 a.m., and by 3 p.m. he still wasn't back from his wanderings. It's springtime. I think we must prepare ourselves for hijinks and naughty nighttime capers...

  22. Oh Jen ... that would have given me a heart attack too girl !
BTW .. he looks so darn handsome in this picture it is hard to be stern with him ? LOL
That is why my girls are "indoor" kitties .. too many dangerous things/people ? out there in the hard faced cruel world .. I NEED to know they are safe 24/7 ..
I'm sure Bootsie is sorry and might try to behave better .. with a little catnip on the side for incentive ?? wink wink

  24. aw. the little &*!(#&! I'm glad he's back safe and sound. I keep telling my indoor cat she's getting a collar the very next time she decides to run out the door while I'm carrying in groceries.
