It’s bad for blogging

2010 03 01 053

Do you ever have those days, then weeks, then a month, where there just doesn’t seem to be enough hours in the day, I usually don’t buy into that train of thought, but..

I have been working so many full shifts at my retail job, I can see how it would take over your life. The job that is, it may be good for the bank account, but it’s bad for blogging.  Please don’t think that I am complaining, because I am rejoicing, just feeling a little guilty for not being able to visit everyone with any regularity.

Google reader is practically flashing red alert at me when ever I dare to go near it.  The amount of posts that are languishing unread creeps up like ivy on a wall.  One minute you turn your back..

I think that sometime in the future things will even out again, and I will be back to visiting everyone.  Maybe I will have to bring some pruners, to cut away the ivy at your blogging doors, but I will be there knocking on them soon.

Until then, Happy Spring.

Jen

  1. Jen, I, too, have days that I'm just too busy, too tired, too lazy to blog! And, I have 10 blogs!!! Take a little time and enjoy life!

  2. I so understand what you are writing...or not only do you run out of time, but sometimes I just feel like taking a break- horrible to admit, but true...sometimes I just get tired of going on the computer every day- but it doesn't take long before I miss everyone and need to check out what is going on!!
Stunning photo- I can't wait for the gardens to start blooming again and the white to be replaced with the beautiful colours of spring!
Have a super day- hugs from Norway :-)

  3. Working really does cramp our style doesn't it Jen. I feel very remiss in my visiting but I am trying. You are usually in my top ten.

  4. What pretty colors in your picture today. Is that a camellia with the helleborous?
We all have times like you are going through...visit when you can and in the meantime I will enjoy looking back through your lovely pictures.

  7. Must be that old Virginia Creeper sneaking up on you! :) I'm sure you'll catch up soon -- in the meantime, kudos on your busy day job. :)

  8. Absolutely understandable...LIFE often gets in the way of blogging and other fun pursuits! In the meantime, enjoy the bank account's rising numbers and we'll see you soon. xoxogail

  9. Ha! I've thought that many times. These days though, I'd enjoy a few days of being overrun with customers. It's so quiet in the Gallery we can hear a pin drop. So....lots of time to catch up with my favourite blogs AND visit several new ones.

    Here's to better days ahead.

  10. Jen..
I too have the same problem..not so much a PAYING JOB..but so many irons in the fire that by the time I CAN actually sit down in front of the computer..I'm literally falling asleep..
I don't just randomly post little nonsensical themes just to have a post..I try to write with my heart and color my blog with appropriate images to illustrate my words..
so.. I'll post when I can, keeping it meaningful,
with the hopes that I've somehow..
    in some small way..
    brightened someone's world..
    warmest hugs, laughing smiles..

  11. Awwwww you guys make me feel so much better.

    I do guilt very well.

I know that I read alot of blogs, [over 100] but that is my choice. And I really don't want to have to give them up. I have a connection with most of them, and I love reading, and it doesn't take too much time, except when everyone posts together, LOL.

The only reason we are so busy at work is the typical answer, not enough staff, and it is like that everywhere. So I am making hay while the sun shines, because no one knows better than us, the cloudy days can come right out of no where.

And they can last for ages.

So thanks everyone for being so supportive, I will just try to fit in everyone when I get a spare moment.

  12. Hi Jen, I love this photo. LOVE it! :-)

I am at work right now peeking at blogs on my lunch hour - there is never enough time and so many fabulous blogs! Hang in there.

  13. Bank accounts are very important, the better to buy more plants! It happens to us all, Jen. The ebbing and flowing of life that interrupts the blogging. We get behind, then catch up then something else always happens and we get behind again. It will all work out. The beauty of the blogs, to me anyway, is that they will wait for you. :-)

  14. Hi Jen~~ There is a modicum of self-imposed pressure I'm guilty of where blogging is concerned, especially when I'm behind. Google Reader has helped tremendously in streamlining the process, although I have enjoyed Blotanical for its merits. Take care.

  16. It is hard, even if you miss one day...you feel guilty and it is so hard to catch up. The more important thing is to live your life and get the important things done first...your blog will always be there when you get some more time :^)

  17. Trying to squeeze blogging in with everything else can be hard sometimes. I sometimes feel guilty if I don't have time to visit more, but I think we all understand that others get busy and don't always have time to visit everyone.

PS You asked about the tomatoes I mentioned. I know Tigerella is an heirloom, but not sure about Black Krim. They both sure look unusual.

  18. Don't worry - I can relate to 'not having enough time'....my blog is suffering because I don't seem to have time to take photos, etc. You have a lovely website with beautiful photos. Thank you so much for sharing with us. Michelle

  23. If I had my way.....Bootsie would be a indoor kitty. Here we are, it's dark outside, and guess who has decided he must be let out.

He refuses to use the litter box, we have tried everything. So I sit, and wait, and wait, and wait.
