It’s been kind of raining here, a lot!
Maybe that’s a understatement, because it seems to be a really wet topic for all the garden bloggers in my area.
I myself, well... I haven’t noticed it to much.
Except today, when I looked out in my garden, I could swear that my plants were singing and dancing to a chorus line of Dylan’s famous song, “A hard rain’s a gonna fall.”
So maybe I didn’t notice it, but obviously they did.
Yes it’s a hard rain, and it’s gonna fall, but if it makes for
such beautiful shots, who can complain?
So are you ducking under that umbrella, and flipping up your soggy collar? Or are you sweating to the unseasonably high temps?
Jen
Oh - we are sweating unseasonable high temps: got up to 96 degrees the other day. It's sweltering & we're already 12" below normal in rainfall for 2010. I wish you could send some of yours down my way to east TX!
ReplyDeleteJen, it rained here as well-finally!!! Everything really needed it, and it washed a bit of city dust off as well.
ReplyDeleteI'm practically floating over here on the Island, Jen! I see blue skies today though - here's hoping we get some warmer temps!
ReplyDeleteNeither, the rains have been few and far between, the sun has been 'just right' and I'm a singin'.

Sweating the first part of the day, sitting on the porch watching the rain and lightning shows second part of the day..
ReplyDeleteJen..
ReplyDeleteon the beach in Panama City Florida..
dreading the oil which is inching ever closer..
trying to enjoy the pristine sugary white sands..
before all is destroyed..
enjoy your rain..
your plants thank you..
as do I..
for the "cooling" and refreshing shots!
sandy hugs

Ack....I'm done with all this rain! My tomatoes are tired, as are my peppers, eggplant and all the garden. The camel is sick of it too.
ReplyDeleteWe are supposed to have June's total rainfall in the first 4 days...
We have rain here, not too much though. Just enough to keep things muddied up some days so that working in the yard doesn't happen. This is the wetest spring we have had here in the North Dakota badlands in a long time. The grass is almost glowing it is so green, the creeks, ponds and dugouts are full of water. The alfalfa is getting tall and thick. Do wish the sun would shine just a little more so things would really grow!
ReplyDeleteIt is high temps for us today but could have rain to night.

My balcony is off limits this year because of the renovations on my building. So, no dancing in the rain for me. I've been suffering with the high humidity, actually. I'm ready for a hot, dry spell.
ReplyDeleteIf it's warm and raining than all is good !!
ReplyDeleteAgree...great shots.
Its rainy up here in New Brunswick too, and its jeans and sweatshirt weather. Hope my veggies survive all this water.
ReplyDeleteI know, I'm whining about rain now, but come August, I'll be begging for it. But it's Seattle, it's supposed to stop, at least for a while, occasionally.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos!!
Hi Jen,
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful blog you have.
Rains make the garden so much more interesting. Rocks truly transform when they are whet. And I love seeing those little water droplets up close on a petal. So gorgeous.
I've been singing the rain rain go away blues for the last week. Although all dried out this afternoon, the garden is lush and gorgeous! Hopefully it stays! Although I agree it can be beautiful in the rain!
ReplyDeleteFabulous shots. Such delicate raindrops like pearls on the flowers and leaves. Very hot here - with a touch of rain! Green and luscious...
ReplyDeleteHi Jen, Forgive me please for being away from your blog for so long. I'm trying to catch up and you'd think with all this rain I'd be on top of things but...well, I'm getting there.
ReplyDeleteI suppose no time is the moniker "Muddy Boot Dreams" more appropriate than now with all the mud making potential pouring from the sky.
Your photos are beautiful which just proves there is always a silver lining, figuratively and literally.
Hopefully the dry weekend they're forecasting will actually happen.
We are wiping the sweat from our face each time we step outdoors. The humidity is so high that your skin just gets hot and wet. Yuck. Bad hair day too. We are expecting rain to cool us off a couple of degrees. Hope you get some good weather this weekend.
ReplyDeleteWe've had some rain but it's mostly just cloudy. Great rain photos Jen.
ReplyDeleteOh what a glorious day today......SUNSHINE!
ReplyDeleteHmm, the rain never seems to make my flowers look as good as yours. Beautiful photography.
