Cascading colors

Dart's Hill Gardens Oct 2010

Certainly this is a beautiful time of year.

Leaves fluttering from the trees with a dry rasping sound.  Softly falling into piles, only to be scattered by the wind and rain.

Vibrant hues, crisp air, and a feeling that Halloween is just around the corner.

I’m loving it.

  1. I used to go to Crescent Beach often with a friend and in the fall we would wander all around the town with our feet crunching the fall leaves. They smelled so good and the wind on the beach was amazing. My favorite time of year.

  2. Those are indeed beautiful images, Jen. I'm already mourning the passing of summer though. *sigh*

  3. Lovely collage, I am a sucker for red. What is the photo bottow right corner? a pot? Something solid in an otherwise ethereal collage.

  5. Lovely colors. Thanks for sharing. All of our leaves are just falling off without changing color due to the bad drought we have had.

  6. Speaking of collecting...sigh. I think that I have fallen in love with old metal thingys, rusted caps on well, which is what that photo in the right hand corner is.

Old doorknob plates, and rusted metal antique tools. So far I have managed to not collect too many, but I can see this getting to be a real "thing."

Help me, I can see a antique tool shed in our future covered with old rusty thingy's.

If you have been reading my blog for a little while, you might have noticed my penchant for photographing older things. Farm equipment especially. Am I in trouble?

  8. Hi Jen, Yes this is a beautiful time of year. I think my kids are getting really tired of hearing me go, "Oooh, look at the colors on that tree!" :)

  9. We certainly don't have the vibrant colors you do. But it's raining now, and I'm certainly enjoying the sound of that on my roof.

  11. Jen, this is a lovely collage. This is my favorite time of year. I added a few mums to a large potted plant in the yard and a scarecrow. I'd like to purchase a pumpkin too. Hope you will enjoy your evening and have a great Sunday.

  13. I used to annoy my FIL by not raking leaves when I'd say 'Pa God didn't have a rake that is why He created the wind' ... he'd reply 'I'll bet your neighbors don't like that much'. Still chuckle over this ... I, too, love each season for the beauties they share.

    Have a wonderful Sunday, Jen.

  14. I am so in love with autumn! And your mosaic... well, I'm feeling a bit envious of your northern clime right now because of all that gorgeous color. Our autumn color won't come in for a while yet because of the late heat we had. I'll just come over here and look at your photos in the meantime. ;-)
