There are select fall leaves that are still stubbornly hanging onto those branches. In protected spots, and surprisingly some trees out in the open.
My heart goes out to those trees, buffeted, and blown. November frosts have not yet touched them.
And they are barely noticed by us as we scuttle by in the driving rain, intent on our errands.
I wonder if they wait for the rare sunshine days to see us scatter them with our feet.
All their hard work of growing during the summer wasted on those who do not always see their beauty?

We are always sad to lose the last of the pretty fall leaves.
ReplyDeleteI wonder do they pay as much attention to us as we do to them? Probably we aren't as interesting as they are...lol
ReplyDeleteThere will always be those - like you - who see and document their last days of beauty.
ReplyDeleteHi Jen. I appreciate their beauty when they are on the trees dressed in color. It is when I am raking and mulching I do not appreciate them. LOL! Terrible huh?
ReplyDeleteHow sad they will be gone soon and the limbs will naked.

Lovely intense colours on your leaves. Our trees are just empty now with the odd one stubbornly hanging on.
ReplyDeleteYou still have leaves in the trees!! And colorful ones at that! We have a few Oaks that keep their leaves all winter and then they shed them during the winter and for sure before spring..sometimes they make noises as they are blown across the top of the snow before they stop right in front of my door:(
ReplyDeleteGreat photos! I am so with you there, loving the burst of glory that is our Canadian autumn...it's quite stunning here on the west coast, isn't it? I heard a mention of snow on CTV last night, and though it won't hit most of us, it does indicate our golden days are almost at an end. Like you, I intend to enjoy every last bit of them!

My copper beech and oak trees are still stubbornly hanging onto their leaves despite a gale last week! The copper beech really glows in the morning light at this time of year and I love it - it never fails to brighten my day!
ReplyDeleteOh I'm in love with your shots in this post!!!!! Maybe its my own "autumn palette" of red hair and freckles that makes me love the colors of autumn so much (they make up the majority of my wardrobe... surprisingly little pink in the bunch). Every time I see fall leaves with sun filtering through them I just want to stop and stare and drink them in. Thanks to your photos, I can!
ReplyDeleteThere are some scattered around here still clinging on. I love the drifts of leaves at this time of year. A seasonal joy for sure!
ReplyDeleteNo frost here yet.
ReplyDeletePerfect shots of great colors.
First picture is interesting with the reflection.
