You know you are getting older when…
All the toys from your childhood are now classified as antiques.
That’s my younger sister, and my favourite dollhouse from our childhood.
Funny thing is, she still has the lamp in the corner. It’s been redone, and is quite stunning. Now if we only knew what a treasure that dollhouse would turn out to be.

Oh my gawd! Your sister is Cindy Lou Who! *grin*
ReplyDeleteI begged & pleaded for a dollhouse like that one. My Dad finally relented and built one for me. I have but one regret in my life (honest), and that is that I sold all my barbies, homemade dresses my Grandma made for them, and the dollhouse when I was 14 and we moved to another city. Wish my Mom had squirreled them away for me. The irony is that my Mom is borderline 'hoarder', but these, she let me sell. Go figure...
Oh heavens, I know. Some mornings I wake up (this morning around 4 a.m. Now I know why as you age you get up earlier) and think I'm just a girl again. Merry Christmas, Jen. I am sitting right underneath the blue and white framed print I so love!

Seeing this photo now makes me remember I did have a doll house, made of metal. I love this picture and that lamp. I love all things old, people and anuimals included! Merry Christmas!!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the doll house. Mine was half that size but I sure wish I still had it. I shared it with 5 sisters and 3 brothers. As for your punchbowl, I do believe I have the same one.

ReplyDeleteWishing you and your DH and of course Bootsie a Wonderful and Blessed Christmas!
Oh my gosh I hope she changed the lampshade. No? Oops sorry. My bad.
ReplyDeleteI love going through antique stores to see all the antiques that I remember well.
Jen, I want all my old toys back! Especially the dresses my barbie had. They were my first taste of glamour and I still covet them. :)
ReplyDeleteSweet post!
They say anything over 30 years old is an antique so I've got it covered quite nicely. Love the old photo. That dollhouse looks like a treasure for sure. Love the lampshade. :)
ReplyDeleteI prefer being classified as vintage, lol.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas, Jen!
ReplyDeleteWell, we antiques are very valuable, yes? :)
ReplyDeleteLOVE the photograph - I had a metal ranch style dollhouse very much like this one!
Happy Wednesday, Jen!
