Spring sent a post card.
My guess is that we were a little too hopeful about the possibility of spring coming to visit, our eagerly awaited guest.
All the signs were starting to show that maybe she would drop in. There are snowdrops in full bloom, the buds on the blueberries, and hydrangea in my garden are greening up. The birds are chirping, and flying all around, the sun shone.
The early snow crocus are up in sunnier warm spots. In some warmer sheltered locations there are buds on the daffs.
This started a spring clean up, a tiding up for a special guest, but at the last minute she cancelled. The forecast is for a cold week, with the chance of snow, yes that white stuff we rarely see this late in winter.
At least she sent a postcard, and she is still welcome to drop by anytime.

alas spring has not visited yet...we have no signs and still at least a foot of snow covering everything...like you I am hoping for a real warm up soon that ill be sustained..
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful postcard Spring sent. We've had faux Spring in recent days - an imposter, but welcome none the less. We have cooler temperatures forecast for later this week but fortunately no snow. North Carolina is almost famous for it's March snows, though, so I don't think we've seen the last of winter.
ReplyDeleteMaybe this will be the last week of snow for you, or maybe it will cancel! Lovely postcard.
ReplyDeleteLovely postcard Jen!
ReplyDeleteWe've got snowdrops out, but we had snow again on Saturday and it has been very cold and raining pretty much constantly ever since then ...... I LONG for some sun and warmth again. I really don't enjoy February! :(
Your garden sounds like it is ahead of mine Jen. I can just see a few tips coming up here and there.Snow is back here too. Just four more weeks maybe Jen. LOL!
ReplyDeleteFabulous shot! Believe me - your world is balmy compared to mine... :-)
ReplyDeleteI've been noticing snowdrops popping up everywhere too. So pretty. As pretty as it looks, I'm hoping we don't get too much of the white stuff.
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing more promising, than the sounds, smells, and sights of spring. You are fortunate to experience it already, as I must wait until at least late April, early May.

Lovely postcards!
ReplyDeleteI love your photographs Jen and this one is excellent.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful postcard! Spring is a long way off..we still have about 16 inches of snow on the ground..and it snowed all day today. It looks alot like Christmas:(
ReplyDeleteI still have 6 feet of snow in my backyard, but I know that deep below it, life is stirring...I just have to use my imagination!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful sentiment, Jen. You seem to always nail it. We are in full blown Winter whites again after a day or two of mid 50's last week. It was just a warm front that pushed in the storm. That's okay, I get my sunshine from your blog. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteSpring can be a bit of a tease, sticking a leg or an arm out from behind the curtain and then withdrawing, taunting us. But the buds don't lie, and she can't keep us waiting for ever! Meanwhile your postcard is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteWe do have spring down here on the Texas Coast, but it will be hot earlier too. Enjoy your cool. Love your post card.
