Make your own quick change art gallery

A quick change on the cheap:

I was looking for some simple, quick, and cheap art to hang on a bare wall, maybe a way to have some of my own photographs displayed while I was at it.  Enlargements are gorgeous but a bit pricy for this temporary solution I was looking for.  Along with that was the need to change it up every so often without either breaking the bank, or my back hanging them.

Color copies:

So I checked online color photocopy sites in order to find one that was both inexpensive, and close by.  Staples was the one I ended up choosing because they did a very large, 11 x 17, great quality, heavy paper color photocopy for .99 cents. Can you get any better than that?  I simply download my chosen shots to their site, and pick them up the next day.

Now to find some frames….11 x 17 is a odd size to find, but I lucked out at Michaels, which is our version here in Canada of a Hobby Lobby.

Whoops":

Two frames in the 11 x 17 size were only $9.99, and with the online coupon they were 40% off, that equals cheap!  But I accidentally broke one on the way home, and had to go back and get another set.  Oh well, I guess three will work as well as four.

It’s now easy and fast to change out the prints to anything that my heart desires.  One week it’s going to be flowers, the next landscapes, the one after that it’s the Boo….

My own art gallery:

And now I have my very own art gallery on what once was a boring plain wall.

  2. Thanks for letting us know about the cheap prints at Staples! What a great idea!

I love the flower print with the texture. The colors look so rich and vibrant, especially for such an inexpensive print!

  7. I was not aware of the awesome prices you found and the ease with which such orders can be made, Jen. You have so many gorgeous photos that I can see why you would want a changing display of them on your walls. To often our digital captures, no matter how lovely, never see paper or the light of day. For images undeserving of being stashed in the dark of forgotten files, you have come up with the perfect solution!

  8. What a great idea, Jen! They look gorgeous! I'm just realizing I have *never* printed off any of my garden photos. Maybe it's time? Thanks for the inspiration. :)

  9. We actually have a Staples here in Norway, not sure we can get prices as cheap as you got them...this is after all expensive Norway....however, I will see if they have a printing service...have never noticed before, I have seen they sell printers but never seen that they print for you. Hmmm....
Oh Hobby Lobby and Michaels...how I miss hobby stores like that...and prices on frames like you got...almost feel like crying.....but I won´t....I´ll just thank you for the great idea of your own art gallery- I have been wanting to do that here for a long time but I can´t afford my own art gallery...hehehehe....at least not here in Norway!!!

  14. They look fantastic, Jen. A friend had several photos printed to canvas recently and it cost 2K.

  15. Great idea! :) We have done something similar to try and ease the pain of living in an apartment with cream colored walls, though it has been tricky to find frames light enough to hang with the non-damaging 3M stickies. What is your favorite free photo site?

  16. Hello awesome Jen! Good stuff and never thought of Staples ... great images to enjoy. Often said taking classes ... get your stuff out and on the wall. Much better when using film, now most of mine still are still digitally gasping for breath. Thank you. Happy Summer, fun friend :)
