Next door kitty may be cute but….he has now progressed to chasing Bootsie in our living room. Life behind the screen door is now a reality for all of us.
We no longer feed him his morning treaty, which he used to get in front of his place, we chase him off of our deck, and although we are friendly outside, we are definitely not encouraging him to come near. Any more suggestions?

Oh oh....hmmmm. What can I tell you? I had a similiar kitty incident. When Mr. Mistofoles chased my cat inside, I took him to the humane society no kill area and they found a chip. He had owners and was reunited with them. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteWe have had many cats/kitten come up to our farm house, then with in two days they are gone. We don't feed them because we don't encourage them to stay. Sounds terrible, but we have a neighbor who has lots, and I guess they stray then go back.
ReplyDeleteI lean towards making polite noises to neighbourhood cats IN THEIR OWN gardens. When they trespass in our garden and chase our cats, time for twolegs to join in politely defending the territory. It's a whose side are you on anyway thing. Bootsie's garden is for Bootsie, and you may share it with him ;~)
ReplyDeleteI think after a few days of chasing him off he will get the message. Can't blame him for coming around if he was being treated but now that he is not welcome you will have to be persistent and hopefully he will stay home. Hugs, Deb=^..^=x4

ReplyDeleteuse a spray bottle of water..
squirt at him,
even through the screen door..
he will get the message..
keep it handy!
i've used that method for strays here..
it works!

We just had a neighbor cat dig up the baby rabbits in our garden and eat them.
ReplyDeleteMaybe when the treats stop...he will leave! I don't know of anything else...is a water hose too mean? ♥
ReplyDeleteoh dear when something so cute becomes a threat to our pets happpiness......since you stopped the treats...and he is still there go with the squirt bottle....harmless and yet ...gets the point across!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like it's a game for next door kitty. Maybe he's bored and lonely.
ReplyDeleteAsk your vet or the local pet store if they have any products that discourage unwanted visitors. There was something I used to use to discourage my rabbit from chewing on furniture. It smelled minty to me, but apparently, it smelled like fox urine to other animals. You could spray it around the perimeter or your yard. I can't recall the name though.
Or, maybe you should just move. *grin*
Poor Bootsie. Good luck!
Actually squirting water works. By the third time, just seeing you with the water bottle in hand will do it!
ReplyDeleteI really hate when they can't get along, especially when a newcomer starts to push their weight around. You've done the right thing... as hard as it is. Otherwise, Bootsie would be de-throned and we can't have that!

Water for sure....
ReplyDeletefighting cats is so stressful. sorry to hear your having troubles. I let our cats fight it out. (we have a regular posse of 3 with visiting ferals) Cats fight to determine hierarchy, once they've got themselves sorted they tend to live together just fine. I keep a close eye so nobody gets seriously hurt and separate them as necessary but mostly the hissing, chasing and batting is ignored.
ReplyDeleteShame on him, getting treats then being a bad boy. Hope it all works out with no harm to any of the kitties.
ReplyDeleteAh squirt him with some water out of a spray bottle..he will get the hint:)
