Dear Diary

Book-0790

Dear Diary,

You, and you only know all of my most important secrets….

You Dear Diary, get the best of my thoughts, and are privy to all of my dreams. And while I love my blog, sometimes a girl has things that she should only share with her diary.

You are made of paper, and I love you so much, but I also like my privacy.  And when I saw this article on how to record your memories in a free online Penzu Diary, I was hooked.  It has a double locking feature with two passwords, and it’s all about privacy. I found it in the latest copy of Windows Magazine, and I am ever glad to see this.

Here’s the link Dear Diary, http://penzu.com/

I just signed up for the free version, but I am really thinking that the paid subscription is toooo cool.  I can email my thoughts to you Dear Diary, and have them show up as a diary entry.  I can turn on the Looking Glass, and see entries from a year before, [of course I will have to wait a while for that].  But who knows what exciting things might happen by then, or where I will be.

I can upload pictures onto my entries, and even share my diary if I like. Can you imagine the possibilities?

Endless Dear Diary, endless.

Moms can write to their children, and share it years later, couples can write to each other, friends can share wonderful memories….

I’m really new to this online diary thing, but I am planning on customizing my online journal and making it feel just like a real paper and pen book.  Sharing all my most personal and inner most thoughts while knowing that it’s all secure, and private.

So Dear Diary, this is goodbye for now, I will see you online at Penzu.

  2. This sounds like an interesting thing to do. I used to journal until I started blogging, now I never take time to write anything down in my journal. My penmanship is so horrible and I can type much faster - almost as fast as I can think. Thanks for the tip!

  4. They may be able to hook up with Blog2Print at some point or some other printing co.
You could have the best of both worlds but I guess then someone could read your diary.
I have never been a diary girl. All my goodies are staying in the vault! Gone for good once I forget them.

  5. Jen ~

What lovely pictures! I have kept a journal since I was a young girl. I don't think I could keep an online journal. I love the feel of the pen in my hand as ink flows across the page. With an online journal, I would be missing that. I would also be afraid that despite the double lock, someone could hack into it. (I don't worry about anyone reading my journal as I take great care on keeping it hidden in a space no one would ever even think of venturing into. ;-) I hope, however, that you enjoy your online journal as much as I enjoy my old-fashioned one. (I'm such a dinosaur.Hee! Hee!)

  6. Hi Jen, sounds like a neat idea. I type faster than I write but I do wonder about the onslaught of technology. So many things become obsolete so quickly. For instance way back when I saved journal entries to floppies, remember those? Can't open them now. So now I just stick to lined school journals and handwritten journals. I don't worry too much about someone in the family reading my journals one day but I do wonder like Mother Kitty before about hacking by strangers.
