Seriously, I thought I had something to tell you. You know it’s important when I have to start the sentence with Seriously. Yes, well, I did have something to tell you. If I can only remember what it was.
I started to write this post, and then phone rang, it was a telemarketer, and 3 of the emails I had sent to friends came back with questions, and of course there was the time I didn’t waste because I enjoyed wasting it on Pinterest. And then Bootsie needed to be fed, and “oh yes, there is something I had to tell you.”
Do you know I can’t remember what it was. It wasn’t that I had to make dinner, in this luxurious late summer, “can you believe it’s September” heat, and that’s a twitter kind of thing. And I am most certain that no one cares that I was making dinner.
Then the Police cars raced up our street, and my heart thumped in my chest as I turned towards the patio door, praying that no cat was out on the road. Or child…… how totally irresponsible of them, one day..….but you don’t need to know that.
There is something that I was supposed to tell you, but I just can’t remember. You know those little nuggets of joy that you save up for your spouse’s arrival home, or the phone call with a good friend. That kind of thing. Then the camera called to me, and I remembered that I was going to take some shots of the garden, late summer heat and all, but I forgot to do that also.
Yes I am sure it will come to me. Maybe it was about the gorgeous sunset at Crescent Beach the other day…or maybe it was something else.
One day I will remember.
And then I will tell you.
Seriously.

I've been there....I just can't write about the moment as eloquently as you!
ReplyDeletePart timers? Love the photos Jen.
ReplyDeleteAh yes...seems most of us have those moments. Lovely photo!
ReplyDeleteMesmerizing shots of the Crescent Beach sunset, Jen! I’ve seen some great sunsets, too, lately. I think I wanted to tell you that this autumn is shaping up to be a warm one … although I'm not too sure about that. :)
ReplyDeleteI hate when that happens.
ReplyDeleteYou'll remember in the middle of the night or some other inconvenient, ridiculous time.
I get that all the time - except, when it comes to actually relating it, I decide it wasn't that great anyway, so I don't mention it at all. Kind of a "you had to be there" situation, but all in my head. *grin*
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures. The thought will come back to you, maybe at 3 in the morning, but it will be back.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet post! I think like this when I'm writing a post! I feel like I have all these things to tell everyone...like I would if I could pick up the phone and call! It's so much fun to have girlfriends! ♥

I think those pictures said it all! Seriously!
ReplyDeleteStunning photography and I was seriously waiting for you to remember what you were going to tell us and then tell us at the end of the post- great was my disappointment, but just know we´re hanging around with great anticipation for what you might remember someday to tell us ;-) In the meantime, enjoy those balmy September evenings- unfortunately Norway isn´t getting anywhere close to balmy this year and I feel winter breathing down our necks- I have a feeling fall will be very short this year- maybe we´ll just skip it too??
ReplyDelete*big smiles*
ReplyDeleteLoving the first picture, that's pretty much my mindset lately.

ReplyDeleteSeriously Jen, your telling us of forgetting to tell us is as endearing as when you remember. And I love that sunset on Crescent Beach. Have a glorious weekend!

Jen,
ReplyDeleteIt has been such a long time since I have wandered the land of blogs. It is a treasure to be back here and catching up on yours a little bit! As always your photos are spectacular.
And sometimes all that needs to be said is Hi. Or perhaps nothing at all. It is simply within our time together that we best express what we are feeling. I love the playfulness of your post!
I'm glad it wasn't something too serious :) I LOVE your header, BTW. Your newest follower, Laura
