It’s all gravy till it goes bad

I love windows live writer for blogging.  It seems to have simplified my life, and made blogging fun again.

It was all gravy until I made a few changes to my blog, and then kaput, like the oven element that blew up our Thanksgiving turkey, things changed.  I have no idea what color, or font the header to this post is going to be, let’s live on the wild side today. Yes, go and look above, and let me know. It’s supposed to be a rusty brown, and the font is supposed to be Gigi.  Most likely it’s something totally different…..hmmm.

And I know that I shouldn’t point this out to you, but it’s driving me batty, [Halloween coming up and all].  But how on earth does the header get squished over into the right hand corner?

Everything was fine, really, I closely cropped my new header, and put it up with fingers crossed, at 1024 pixels, but somehow it’s jammed into the corner.  Any ideas? Does yours do that? Can you tell me what to do?

And do you like it?  Is the color too yucky?  On my computer it’s a warm bisque, but I am wondering what it’s like on yours.  Tell me it’s not some nasty pea soup color, oh please, LOL.

Anyways, I remain, for now at least, until the computer changes that too.

  1. Jen, I use a macbook and your header is completely centred and a milky coffee colour if that helps. Perhaps you just need to reset your computer and it'll look right to you?

  3. Your new header is great but on my pc it is a bit off to the right. The background colour is beigey and looks nice and the photos are great. I hope this helps.

  4. Your header looks centered perfect except sunflower pic looks cropped on the right. I have just started using picassa and I still ain't got it perfect, lots of practicing and fustration.

  6. OK, got rid of the turquoise lettering...sigh. Love that color, but not in my writing.

The header is still slightly off to the right, and I have no idea why it does that? Anyone? It's not from the processing of the photo, it's perfectly centered.

Thanks for taking a look and leaving a message for me.

  7. Ok...I'm blogging and photo-illiterate - but I am using Blogger (I do so believe) - and your header looks lovely - 'cept the sunflower photo is cut off a wee bit on the far right and there's no outer mat/border around it.....Color is a nice mushroom khaki....Don't know if I've helped or confused you more. 8. Ditto what TheCrankyCrow said for me. It looks lovely, if that helps!

  9. What Cranky crow said..looks to me like you just need to shorten the width on the header photo a little..about 20 should do it...maybe.

Anyways..other than that little problem that will drive you nuts until you figure it out..the rest looks great:)

  11. Beautiful colours, wonderful pictures! I love your blog. On my mini laptop slightly to the right (so are a number of other blogs...)

  14. All is as it is supposed to be here. I use Firefox.
Are you sure you weren't sitting with your head sideways?

  15. Jen,
Your header looks good (photos clear, nice color) but slightly to the right as others have already said. I think your problem can be solved by looking in your header settings for an option 'Shrink to fit.' If you can find that and turn it on, I think the whole thing will adjust to the exact width of your header, instead of hanging off on the right side. However, it's such a small adjustment, I wouldn't spend a lot of time worrying about it.

  16. The header does not look off too much, just a tad. It is so pretty Jen. I just love the robins eggs.

  17. The colour, is ever so slightly green, for coffee, but not enough for pea soup.

You could, either make the header a few pixels narrower. Or make the main column, a few pixels wider. Wouldn't have noticed the missing frame on the far right - if you hadn't written a post about it. But since you are a photographer I can understand it bothers you, as a spacing mistake bothers me!

We need to CTRL+ to read the comments ;~)

Does that mean you did or didn't get to eat your Thanksgiving turkey??

  18. Which reminds me, if you want to be picky, my blog header is still way off centre. I fiddled. And I gave up ;~)

  19. I'm viewing this on my iMac using Google Chrome and your header looks beautiful. Your tabs text underneath is in a sans serif font (Helvetica?) in an orange-brown. Your post title is black in the font "Homemade Apple" that Blogger introduced in their Template Designer feature a few months ago. Your post text is also black in a sans serif font that looks like Arial.

I think your Windows Live Writer is having a hard time talking to the new Blogger interface of the Template Designer and Blogger is overriding anything Windows Live Writer tries to initiate. Don't know if that's true, but it's my hunch.

  20. P.S. I think your header getting cropped can be fixed easily by going into the Blogger Template Designer through Blogger. Design--> Template Designer--> Adjust widths--> set for the width of your header graphic.
