From adventurers to hoarders

Muddy Boot Dreams-1129

When we heard that we needed to move within 2 1/2 weeks our hearts jumped.  Right into our throats, and then they settled down. It will be our adventure we told each other.

We are down to the last of the packing.  Then it’s only a few days of living with a spoon, fork, and a pot, and a fat cat.

But the only problem is, we feel like we are partaking in a reality show, Jen and Gar’s most excellent adventures in hoarding.  Boxes are everywhere, and there is only a narrow pathway through the living room.  The chairs are adorned with packing paper, and tape, boxes are piled up everywhere.  Bootsie is loving it, so many boxes to jump into, I think that I have accidentally packed up him up more then once.

We need to think ahead so much our minds are spinning.  Bring, store, need, want, live without for at least a few more months.   We had packed up many of our trinkets in the spring, and stored them in a storage locker.  Now they have come home to roost. and our living room looks similar to those of the people on the hoarding shows.

There’s lots of “where’s the …..and did you find the ???  going on around here.  And there is also “oh I remember this” when a box stored for months gets opened.  It’s kind of like Christmas, all over again…..

  1. And yet no pictures of this shambles? Did you pack away the camera by accident?
We would love to see the chaos Jen. Or have you signed a contract with the tv show already.

  2. Oh Lori, I seriously think there is little interest in the Chaos....LOL.

And these photos were so much more relaxing.

Just wait until I get some of the snow covered Coquahalla, and the trucks all off of the side of the road...sigh.

  3. Nothing like packing it all up to bring you face to face with how much loot you really have! I can't imagine moving. But in a way it would be nice to get rid of about half of it. Your serene photos are a nice juxtaposition from your current position. I bet Bootsie is having the time of his little life. :)

  5. As long as you have a path you are not an official hoarder. LOL! I bet Bootsie loves climbing around and upon all those boxes. New paths to explore. LOL!
The pictures around the pond are just beautiful Jen.

  6. Oh my gawd...don't even talk to me about hoarding. I'll show you hoarding. *smile* Sending you lots of good wishes for an uneventful trip over the mountains. Enjoy the journey!

  7. Sometimes those hoarders have to crawl through windows to get into their houses..so if you have a path you are in good shape!

I hope it goes smoothly..I will be thinking of you all week. I hope Bootsie doesn't caterwall for five hours on your final trip north:)

  10. I don't envy you the packing and moving...but the excitement of the move is the eye on the prize!!!

  11. I agree with Grace about how your photo's are such a warm, calming difference between what you are living in and the beauty of nature. Although, I imagine there is calm in your heart as captured in the photos for this well planned and desired change. Best always! Jenni

  14. I love the way you juxtapose the chaos that must be inside with the order of nature on the outside. Very nice.

  15. This post brought back a lot of memories, we stayed in a furnished rental while house shopping and spent a lot of time rooting through our trailer for bits and pieces. Even now (two years later) there are still items that I wonder where did that go? Did we leave it in BC?
