Yesterday was the first official morning of spring. Spring wanted to celebrate, so she threw a party, but snow-one came. There was over a inch of beautiful fluffy white stuff covering the ground, the skies were dark, and gloomy. It certainly wasn’t very spring like weather at all, and we were disappointed.
But that was the morning, and by afternoon the snow was gone, spring was happy, the skies were gloriously bright and sunny. Even when we went for a walk the wind was kind, the birds were chirping, and the skies were bright and blue.
That spring, she sure knows how to celebrate with style.
And the best part? The snow encouraged a entire flock of tiny quail to run around our front yard, and search for food.
They ran right past my office window, what a change from the newspaper guy walking by. Talk about adorable, but I didn’t get a photo, maybe next time.
I have high hopes for spring, what about you?

Spring arrived with glorious temperatures above +20 Celsius. The birds are chirping, the squirrels are frolicking and the plants are sprouting. It's a wonderful time of the year.
ReplyDeleteOh so do I have high hopes for spring! It has been glorious here, breaking all the record high temps for March. Your photos are beautiful. I'm eager to plant a garden, but I have to remind myself that it's only March and lots can happen between now and June 1. :-)
ReplyDeleteOh I never tire of your scenery. So gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteIt is spring at our place--in the greenhouses.
ReplyDeleteYes it is spring like here..but it is still March and it could snow anytime..you will have to keep track of when you saw your first Robin..I have not seen one yet in my yard:(
ReplyDeleteHi Jen! What beautiful scenery to enjoy on your walks! My, it's been summer here the past few days! Crazy hot sunny days at 22 and 25 C. The snow is almost gone except for the drifts and snowbanks. I know we're going to be shocked in a few days when this system moves on and it'll be spring again but for now I'm enjoying it. Blessings, Pamela
ReplyDeleteHey Jen, what great pastoral views you have! It's snowing down here in Oregon too. I can't even look at the East Coast blogs right now. I'm just too jealous. Cheers, Jenni
ReplyDeleteJen, we've been basking for 3 weeks in the 70s & fabulous weather.
ReplyDeleteI love LOVE the exquisite scenery you shared. The quail foot prints are wonderful ... how fun to see them in your own yard.
Have a beautiful eve ~

We're not going to talk about the weather. LOL Okay, maybe a little... It has snowed all day and it's STILL snowing. SNOW-one's coming to this party, that's for sure. Beautiful photos!!!
ReplyDeleteHad to giggle at your title! If snow comes now, that means spring isn't far behind!
ReplyDeleteI could just sit here all day and gaze at your photos. They are simply stunning. We seem to have jumped right past spring and into summer here.
ReplyDeleteWonderful hopes here...what a lovely surprise spring gave you Jen!
