Oh please tell me that you get these color crushes also, you know vintage pink, retro turquoise, tantalizing teal, it’s so intense right now. All I want to do is envelop myself in these colors, dip everything with light teal, throw down some turquoise accents, and add dashes of this vintage pink.
It might be the late spring we are having, and the feeling like we are so behind every other garden around, but I am enamoured of these colors right now. It’s nothing more then a color crush, but oh it feels so sweet and vintage-y.
These roses make me think that they should be pinned on the collar of a waitress named Flo, who has bleached blonde hair, and a great big heart, and a soft southern drawl. Wasn’t there a waitress named Flo in a TV show?
I am so in love with them, the roses that is, it’s not funny. I don’t know a waitress named Flo, or anyone else that goes by that name, but I can clearly see her standing there with her turquoise uniform on, and her big hair.
What colors are you crushing on right now? Do they stay constant, do you flirt with bold, tangle with the pastels, or do you go all out with brights? And how long does your crush last?
I need to know, after all, no one wants to be in love alone.
Crushing….Jen @ Muddy Boot Dreams
Always pink. Sage-y green called Healing Aloe (Benjamin Franklin paint in my bedroom). Aqua blue. A pink David Austin rose named Gertrude Jekyll--my color obsession.
ReplyDeleteYou're are not alone! I am currently assembling pieces to redecorate my bedroom - it was going to be cool blues, whites, ivories with maybe a little silver tone thrown in. Sophisticated and almost monochromatic. BUT I keep picking up pink doilies and I almost bought a pink chair and now I have country and romantic accents creeping in. I was fighting against it and then decided to let myself go and buy whatever catches my eye! The walls, quilt and drapes are plain so things can always change. I think my romance with pink has just started...J
ReplyDeleteMy color is yellow from flowers outside to yellow walls inside. I keep saying i'am going to stop and get into other colors but keep going back to yellow. Plus even yellow in my clothes I quessd i'am just nuts haha.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty. Did you say what it was? I have not seen that flower before. I wanted to tell you that I just LOVE your header. Great photos.
ReplyDeleteThis is a gorgeous colour! I tend to default to pink flowers, it seems.
ReplyDeleteSo hard to choose, but I'm currently in love with my pale yellow roses. Always have had a love affair with shades of green . . . I agree, "no one wants to be in love alone". Thank you for the gorgeous pics and the glimse into your world.
ReplyDeleteI love yellow roses, one had yellow wall painted in our last place we lived at.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you in my love for soft pinks and aquas. Although my decor doesn't allow too much aqua due to a soft green sofa and goldish chairs. I still stick them in where I can, like the dining room and kitchen. They are two of my favorite summer colours.
ReplyDeletewell Jen~
ReplyDeleteFirst.. I am NOT a pink person..
never have really cared for that color altho it is supposed to exude feminism!
I am girly, just not with pinks and frills..
Blues..yellows.. and WHITE..those are my colors!
Every really good photo of me,,I'm wearing YELLOW!
It is my feel good..powerful color!
so..
I'm in love all over again with my tried and true favorites..
can't desert them with fleeting fads,,.which quickly become passe' because those overused colors are everywhere one looks!
warmest hugs..
Loui♥
For me, it's always green first, in all shades. Love what green represents: calm, nature, new life, hope, renewal. Although you do make a strong case for pink. :<) A lovely post to enjoy here, as usual.
ReplyDeleteHappy Week Jen, G

I don't have a particular favourite in the garden at the moment. All the colours are spectacular and I run around with the camera trying to capture them. Your photos are lovely with the pinks. Valerie
ReplyDeleteI do have a fondness for pink roses, yellow walls, blue flowers, aqua waters...I guess I don't have a favourite, Jen.

I'm in love with the bright oranges of the sunset, the purple of the irises and the soft pinks and white of the roses.
ReplyDeleteLovely pics.
Pink! Or pink and yellow. Or pink and vintage green. Or pink and vintage aqua. I love all those combinations. My husband calls them "easter egg colors" -- that's what I love!!
ReplyDeleteAnd YES, there was a waitress named Flo with big hair and a pink uniform on the TV show Alice with Linda Lavin! :-)
~Angela~
I've always loved good old fashioned pink roses. so pretty in the garden and their smell is heavenly. Flo was a waitress at Mel's diner on the TV show Alice. She was known for saying "Kiss my Grits " :)
ReplyDeleteJen girl PINK is my baby right now as well .. dashes of pink against lime and almost yellow, is shouting at me to take pictures .. I have amazing pink astilbe going through different stages .. next will be my favorite Ostrich astilbe with their heads bent and appearing to look at the plants underneath them ... I have a brilliant RED day lily blooming right now as well .. so if by chance I miss the pink ? the RED will make me look in all directions!
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine a gardener not falling in love, through all the stages of their gardens, with special plants and colours .. I have more pictures to down load so I will be falling in love all over again with my garden and its plants.
I am so glad you are enjoying yours for the first time !
Your pictures are stunning girl!

Every year I pick a color that grabs my attention as I wander the garden or buy annuals. It lasts for a season usually..
ReplyDeleteRight now because it is summer..I love green...and all it's shades in the yard. Your pink little rosy things are beautiful! When I think of you I think of that lovely pale teal you love and white:)
