Lemon cookies and damp days

1-MBD 2012 Foggy -0128

It’s been raining here off and on

for over a week, and you won’t

hear me complaining. Although it’s

so needed, there are those who

seem to take the grey skies, and

damp days personally.

When life

hands you lemons, make

lemon

cookies I say.

These turned out delicious, very lemony, with just the right amount of sweet/tart flavour.

It’s a prize winning recipe I found on Pinterest, and you can find it here. The only thing is mine are not quite crinkly enough…maybe I needed more butter.  Or better weather.

I have a sidebar button on my blog, titled “Practically Pinterest” that way if I find something fun, tasty, or great, and have tried it out, I can post it there so if you are interested you can give it a try also.

This is the first Pin to go up, and I highly recommend giving them a try. They barely made it through the photo shoot. Crinkled or not.

But if you figure out how to make them crinkly, please let me know.

  6. Good morning, Jen. I like your idea of a recipes tried button. I just pinned pretty pictures not knowing they led to real food until a friend called me on some very strange ingredients. I need to go back and put a disclaimer on my board. Happy weekend.

  8. Crinkly or not the cookies look delicious with a hot cup of tea. Just the thing for a cold rainy day by fire side as you conjure up your next blog post. I would imagine that perhaps the humidity may have something to do with texture. I don't know. Ask the Barefoot Contessa or Giada, or maybe Martha. As for me, they look good as they are. Gotta love Pinterest.

  13. They look totally scrumptious !!
If only I could reach into the monitor and grab one ... or many ? you would have none left at all, LOL
That is a great idea to have a side bar click to what you really enjoyed from Pinterest.
I will have to have a peek!!

  16. These sound really yummy Jen. It's fun to find a new recipe that is a real hit. We have had 4 sunny days and the last 2 with temperatures in the mid-teens. Just glorious! However, Hurricane Sandy will be bringing lots of rain and wind from Mon - Wed this week. :( It will be dreary again. I may have to bake.

  17. Yum!! I love lemon in bakery goods. My mother in law made me a lemon pie when I was pregnant and I still crave it to this day. She is gone now and I never got her recipe. So I love anything with lemon instead. I don't pin so I will be checking out your sidebar from time to time.

And the rain...we have had it off and on and now it's just cold. Brrrr.

    XO,
    Jane

  18. They look dreamy. My husband made oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, also taking advantage of the rainy weather to stay inside and bake. Not many of them left either.

  20. Who needs crinkles??? I bet they are delicious just the way they are. I am hoping that our rain has stopped so that I can spend some of this chilly day cleaning in the garden. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

    Hugs,
    Laura
