this quote resonates so true for me on a personal level. My dreams hold the fibers of my days, many become my paintings and sleep for me is magic time keeper, holding all my memories safe.Have a good day, I'm glad I came back!
Walking with your eyes and minds closed to the beauty of nature ! That's what this quote says to me ! This is why I love nature photography so much , capturing as many magical and beautiful moments as I can eyes and lens wide open ! Fantastic photos ! Have a good day !
It's pretty sad to think of people walking around feeling like they are living lives without purpose, but I think it is all too common. We need to wake up to all that is around us, all we've been blessed with, to a Creator who loves us and gives our lives purpose. What beautiful photos!
This quote is absolutely dead on for me Jen .. sort of sad to admit to, but obviously other people feel this way as well. Those sparks that I feel ? .. I always think if I could only feel this way all the time .. it would be amazing what I could accomplish! They seem to be fewer and farther between as you age though .. another downer .. BUT .. it is up to us to try even harder to come back to the land of "sparks" and if it takes drinking my "green swill" and other supplements I will choke them down and work on it! I think there are a few more sparks left in this broken down engine?LOL Joy PS .. last picture is a stunner girl !
What I truly think. Our Lord has given us such beauty and through photography we even have our eyes more open. I am not a sleep to my surroundings. Taking things for granted is not the way I go.
I was in the Forest with my camera and it was so peaceful. All the surroungs just me and this forest was a taste of true peace.
Every leaf, every twig. It was Gods perfect scenery. As I stood there.
I thought so may people are asleep and never appreciate what is beauty around them.
Yes, it's those sparks that keep us moving, reaching for our dreams. Without them we wouldn't be able to grow. Your pictures went along so well with this quote. Just lovely!
You had me at fog.....I do so love the fog....for me it is a comforting, enveloping, blanket that deadens, quiets, softens and muffles the ugliness and harshness around us. Just like sleep can. Yet the glimmers and sparks exist there too in the darkness of night and the moodiness of the fog...I think that is why I crave the fog so much - it makes it so much the easier to see the sparks, don't you think? Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin
I think it means that we live too fast and don't see the beauty around us. The spark is when something catches our eye and we see the beauty in the world around us. Like when we are busy doing something and something makes us look up and go WOW! Brings us back to what is important. Beautiful pictures and quote.
I think many times, especially when we are younger and take life for granted, we move through our daily tasks on autopilot, so to speak; almost in a dreamlike state with every day being the same routine, and therefore nothing to get excited about, same old, same old... when something exciting happens, no matter how small, holding on to how you felt in that moment can get you through a lot of tough times and can made a "dreary same old, same old" day be bright again! Hugs.
Well, I love those foggy pictures and they depict the state of my mind these days. I need a spark! I find myself driving around in a haze not quite believing the turn my life has taken. Then suddenly I may see something truly wonderful - like the view of the mountains around here at sunset and realize I need to wake up and soak in every moment - good or bad. You only live once! Ann
That is a pretty profound quote and I really had to think about it in a spiritual sense. I think we are often in our own little world and not aware of the life God has created in us then one day that spark, God's presence, lights the way so we can see the purpose in our lives. Beautiful photos as always. Blessings, Pam
I echo what the other commenters said, and also, I know when it happens to me. All of a sudden everything is clear and miracles appear all around me. :) Part of it, I think, is self-actualization--when all your basic needs are taken care of, and you can rise to that level of a higher, more aware existence. Beautiful images and sentiments, Jen.
Wonderful. That spark is something that appears every so often and when it happens, it illuminates a path briefly in front of us....one that we can choose to take. Or not. It reminds us why we are alive. Your shots are gorgeous!
did he write that when he was an addict? Sounds like perhaps it was..when he realized he needed help with his addiction.
I will say: that in everyday life we have to look for the things that make us smile..even if it is raining out yet again and it could be worse it could be snow:)
Oh, I love that quote! To me, it means that we live day after day after day just coasting along, but we need to remember the goal - the clarity of why we do the things we do, that spark of excitement that makes us want to forge ahead.
Getting into ruts, working jobs for long hours we are frequently sleeping...it is the realization there is more to live and when to start living it...what I am embracing now...though hard to do with jobs these days....less money, more work, less time, less help....sorry I rant! Love the quote...
It makes me think about we often wait for just the right moment to do certain things. Maybe what we think has to be perfect before we move or do something new. So therefore no spontaneity in our lives and living becomes humdrum and routine and it loses it's luster..
I'm thinking that we have to watch for those 'signs' that makes us remember to live in the moment!
ReplyDeleteFantastic image ~ great reminder!

It makes me think of the times I go through life on auto pilot and missing the little things around me that really are important...beautiful Jen.
ReplyDeleteI don't know, but I do know your fog photos are fantastic.

ReplyDeleteGreat quote! It tells me to live my life, fully in the moment and alive so I don't miss a glimpse of the magic that exists all around me.
ReplyDeleteNo idea, but like your photo.
