If it’s loud enough I can sing along in harmony

3-P1120465

Life is full of surprises, a big one

I suppose is that many of us can’t

sing but think we can.  Watch a

couple of auditions on American

Idol if you don’t believe me. You

either can, or baby sorry but you

can’t.  I can’t, nope, but oh do I

wish I could. Life however has a

out for those of us who can’t sing.

Can’t carry a tune?

Drag it!

Just turn up the music and sing like you are the winner of a really bad

talent show. It’s all in the way you present it baby.

It’s learning to make do with what you have, so what if you’re tone deaf, maybe a bad singer, turn up the music loud enough, and you sound great.  Now, sing along to your hearts content.

If you have it loud enough it will drown out your harmonizing that sounds like a herd of cats yowling at the birds.

And that’s how you make lemonade out of a silk sow’s ear.

  1. I never sing , unless my girls are out in their playroom..Yep, my poms have their own room lol..
If I sing , they howl.. The combo of those sounds unnerves the neighbors ..
    Sing on, Babe-- Sing On.

  5. I laugh out loud because my mother who was professionally trained to sing opera, though she only sang at home, used to tell me that I couldn't carry a tune in bushel basket. It took me years to figure out the metaphor. But I do like your metaphor. I do have a happy song in my heart that I hope everyone can hear.

I must have missed your last post. The pictures of the pheasants are absolutely amazing. We have them here, not so close as I could ever photography them.

  7. I love your posts. Your photos always draw me in. I love to sing but don't do it much other than in church. I especially love to belt out the Christmas carols. Hope all is well and you have a wonderful Sunday.

  9. I only sing in church -he organist really cranks up the volume, so the congregation isn't shy about singing - and while I'm driving on the open road.

  11. LOL! This is so true for me too! I joined a local community choir once because my sister asked me to, even though I knew I couldn't sing... was so stupid because, I would always lip sync b'cause I didn't want anyone to hear that I couldn't sing, LOL! Two years... now where I live, I sing out loud doing my chores, sad thing is, it echos so much around here, I know the two closes neighbours can hear me because we can hear them when they are just talking! Was singing all day yesterday, our loud, husband nearby and all, (he loves me, croaks and all), and the song I was signing is something I'm going to be making a post about for around Christmas time, so your post comes at a perfect time! Cheers.

  12. My hubby cringes when I sing along with a song. I can't carry a tune. But it makes me happy to sing along.

  13. Fantastic photos ! I used to sing in a band in bars . My dad took recordings of me singing when I was 5 . My family are all musically inclined . I do hum a lot when doing things here around the house. Have a good day !

  14. I could have sponsored this show! I do love to sing, but carrying a tune is not what I can do, which is why it's nice that I can turn up the volume! :-)

  16. I can sing. Sort of. I turned up the music the other day and sang my little heart out. It does the body good to belt out a tune every now and again - in key, or not.

  17. I always tell people that I sing like a bird....the crow being the closest example.
Doesn't stop me though and I know all the words to all those songs from the 50's, 60's and 70s.

  18. I love to sing and know I have a voice that makes babies cry. But I don't care! I sing alone in the car and I'm fabulous!

  19. I got a kick out of this post, Jen. My two daughters sang their way through weddings and parties. One daughter got a full music scholarship for her voice. I can sing a bit and my youngest son is a good singer/musician. Now my oldest son and my husband could not carry a tune in a gift wrapped box. Son doesn't try because he KNOWS. Hubby thinks he CAN sing OK sometimes...(groan)...so we are well-rounded group. xo Diana

  20. Oh. I love to sing and I don't care how I sound. I love to threaten my family by telling them if they don't do what I want (you know things like give me a million dollars, or let me cheat at games) I'll embarrass them all by going on America's got talent. That's when I get the big eye roll. I don't think they are taking me seriously enough :)

    Hugs,
    Laura
