Did you hear something?

2-MBD 2012 Foggy Daze-0311

Who me?  Nooooo, what was it?

Coyote?

3-MBD 2012 Foggy Daze-0315

I thought I heard the neighbours calling us.

Oh, you mean those bird brains, the Quails?

They are no good as watch dogs, they miss everything.

Hey, did you hear something?

I thought the neighbours were just around

the corner, and now they are gone.

  4. Haha! That is a great post. You captured some beautiful photos of the pheasants and quail. I've never seen a pheasant in the wild here but they do exist. Enjoy the weekend.

  5. Hi Jen, You are so fortunate to live where you can see such "bird brained" neighbors.. They are beautiful and a sight to behold.
I just went out to feed my little birds~~~sparrows, cardinals, blackcapped chickadees, blue jays, sometimes a gold finch. I have lots of squirrels too, but nothing as beautiful as the pheasants and quails..
It feels like it's December here today.
    Have a happy weekend.

  17. Keeping up with the Jones’ is a hard act to follow in your neighborhood. Our quail and doves are very drab compared to your flashy pheasants. Your colorful photographs are superb lift on a lazy Saturday afternoon. Best regards for a happy weekend.

  20. Wow, you captured pheasants...and quail?! I'm impressed. I've never been able to get close enough or be fast enough to get them on film. Nicely done!

  21. Wonderful pictures Jen! How nice to have those in your area. I love to watch quail run around - they do seem a bit dim-witted. Ann

  23. ooooh pretty! what a great find seeing those birds. I do love quail when they run, their little bits bobbing up and down on their heads with their fast tiny little steps.

  24. We used to see these birds all the time. We hardly ever see either now. Beautiful pictures.

  25. Just one look at a pheasant and I can hear it honk/hoot (how would you describe it?). But I can't hear its neighbours; in part because I don't know what they sound like and, in part, because pheasants dominate the air space.

  26. Gorgeous photos, Jen and so funny. We don't have pheasants and quail here. I don't think I have seen them since I was a child in Ontario.

  27. GREAT pictures. There are no pheasants or quail around here, though I used to travel to the Dakotas for work and saw them by the roadside all the time.
