Did you hear something?
Who me? Nooooo, what was it?
Coyote?
I thought I heard the neighbours calling us.
Oh, you mean those bird brains, the Quails?
They are no good as watch dogs, they miss everything.
Hey, did you hear something?
I thought the neighbours were just around
the corner, and now they are gone.

Absolutely stunning photos!

Cute captions to beautiful photos. I have not seen a pheasant in the wild in Wis. for years!!
ReplyDeleteLovely photos Jen.
ReplyDeleteHaha! That is a great post. You captured some beautiful photos of the pheasants and quail. I've never seen a pheasant in the wild here but they do exist. Enjoy the weekend.
ReplyDeleteHi Jen, You are so fortunate to live where you can see such "bird brained" neighbors.. They are beautiful and a sight to behold.
ReplyDeleteI just went out to feed my little birds~~~sparrows, cardinals, blackcapped chickadees, blue jays, sometimes a gold finch. I have lots of squirrels too, but nothing as beautiful as the pheasants and quails..
It feels like it's December here today.
Have a happy weekend.
Charlotte
Cute!
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen a pheasant in years. They are such pretty birds.
ReplyDeleteOh how very cool...would love to see quail and pheasant in my garden!!
ReplyDeleteOh, they are so beautiful. Catty tongues though LOL! Nice one Jen.
ReplyDeleteHappy Weekend.
Are you having another grey drizzly day there? I want snow!!!!
those are some fine feathered neighbors you have!!
ReplyDeleteWow they are pretty feathered neighbours who visit.
ReplyDeleteExcellent taste. I guess they are noisy right?
You got great pictures.
I like them.
haha - Funny! I often wonder what birds are thinking. I don't get to see quail or pheasants around here - they are both gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteWhat a treat it must be to see such wildlife in your your own backyard! These are really great pictures, Jen, and I love the captions!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
XO,
Jane
Stunning photos Jen... aren't they just beautiful birds... don't have them around here so very happy to see them on your blog. Cheers.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos! I love your post! Funny!
ReplyDeleteWow what great photos!! We had a Pheasant here a week ago..our first sighting of one in this area for years..Chance and Far Guy saw him..or her..and by the time I got outside with the camera he/she was gone. You captured them beautifully:)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos! Thank you! Blessings.
ReplyDeleteKeeping up with the Jones’ is a hard act to follow in your neighborhood. Our quail and doves are very drab compared to your flashy pheasants. Your colorful photographs are superb lift on a lazy Saturday afternoon. Best regards for a happy weekend.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I seldom have the opportunity to see them in the wild. Your photos are terrific!
ReplyDeleteHaha ~ those are nice neighbours to have! :)

Wow, you captured pheasants...and quail?! I'm impressed. I've never been able to get close enough or be fast enough to get them on film. Nicely done!
ReplyDeleteHow lovely!
ReplyDeleteWonderful pictures Jen! How nice to have those in your area. I love to watch quail run around - they do seem a bit dim-witted. Ann
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful neighbors you have ... even if they are bird brained! Enjoyed your post ... it put a smile on my face. :-)
ReplyDeleteooooh pretty! what a great find seeing those birds. I do love quail when they run, their little bits bobbing up and down on their heads with their fast tiny little steps.
ReplyDeleteWe used to see these birds all the time. We hardly ever see either now. Beautiful pictures.
ReplyDeleteJust one look at a pheasant and I can hear it honk/hoot (how would you describe it?). But I can't hear its neighbours; in part because I don't know what they sound like and, in part, because pheasants dominate the air space.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos, Jen and so funny. We don't have pheasants and quail here. I don't think I have seen them since I was a child in Ontario.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Laura
GREAT pictures. There are no pheasants or quail around here, though I used to travel to the Dakotas for work and saw them by the roadside all the time.
ReplyDeleteWow! How cool to catch not just one, but two different birds dancing. I love it. thanks for sharing.
