Sure there is lots to do to
prepare for Christmas.
There are cookies to bake
and the tree needs to be
brought in, the mantle
decorated, more lights
outside, lights inside.
All manner of things need to
be done. But we are running
on Bootsie time…
And when you run on Bootsie time, there is always time to explore the yard, watch the birds, and take a nap.
It doesn’t matter if there are crafts waiting to be finished in the studio.
Photos to be shot, ornaments to be hung, or plans to be made.
It’s Bootsie time, and there are all sorts of amazing smells for him to explore.
Time spent with Boo is time well spent.

I think everyone needs to run on Bootsie time, now that we are retired I know we do.
ReplyDeleteWe can learn a lot from our felines.
ReplyDeleteWhat pretty pics, especially of Boo. Many times I will be stressing over things that should be completed when one of the cats jump into my lap and begin purring. It is then I realize to slow down and enjoy the moment. Have a good day and sweet hugs to Boo.
ReplyDeleteSince I've retired, I'm on Bootsie time too. I'm easily distracted, and can stray from my path and any given time to do something else!! Advise to you...follow your cat's lead!!!
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos ! It has been quiet but busy here if that makes sense lol The weather has been cold and rainy yuk ! Harley kitty is an indoor cat and doesn't do much lol acts more like Garfield the cat lol . Have a good day !
ReplyDeleteGreat photos! How I would love to pick your cat up and cuddle him. Cats do take lots of breaks. We need to pace ourselves during the holidays.
ReplyDeleteAwe inspiring photographs and Boo time too. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteCat really do have it all figured out and are excellent mentors. How is Bootsie enjoying the snow and cold weather?
ReplyDeleteReally pretty photos today - I wish we had some snow, even just a dusting would do :-)
ReplyDeletecats definitely know how to slow down and enjoy the moment. It is worthwhile for all of us. :)
ReplyDeleteI think that's my problem this year - I'm running on Bootsie time! Then again, I'd rather put up the tree and ornaments just before Christmas and leave it up all the long and cold January to cheer up the house.
ReplyDeleteWe got over a foot of the white stuff yesterday. Hubby's out with the snowplow even as I write.
I love your figure skates Jen! Bootsie looks so 'obvious' in the white snow. No hiding among the shrubs now. ;) We are getting a snow storm this morning followed by freezing rain later in the day. Schools are closed. I think I'll bake cookies this afternoon. Enjoy the day!
ReplyDeleteI love the contrast of Boo's coat with the snow.
ReplyDeleteSince I retired, I don't wear a watch and my life is much happier and much slower. Bootsie time is definitely all it's cracked up to be!
Hi Jen,
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your photo's of exploration with Bootsie! We all need to live on Bootsie time more often :) Cheers, Jenni
If kitties ruled the world there would be no wars, unless they spotted a mouse. I'm going to go on kitty-time too.
ReplyDeleteWell done Bootsie - that is the way to live life!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous shots.
I agree. We all need to take time to enjoy the season.
ReplyDeleteI understand Bootsie time...and it's the best. Your photos are equisite!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos... Bootsie time sounds good to me!
ReplyDeleteoh Jen, this post perfectly describes many an afternoon I've spent with my own dear pets. There's nothing like just taking time to enjoy being home.
ReplyDeleteI think I would like to set my watch on Bootsie time! Love those photos. Kitty just pops put in that snow!

Bootsie time is the best kind of time! Beautiful photos! Cheers!
ReplyDeleteLife lived on Bootsie time is a life well lived, in my opinion. And your handsome fellow looks like rural living agrees with him greatly. BTW, your photo of the snow on the holly leaves is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThis post really makes me miss our late cat Phoebe. Maybe it's time for a new kitten (or two).
ReplyDeleteI am a big supporter of Bootsie time and how I roll these days!
ReplyDeleteIs that Holly? It is beautiful..lucky ducky..eh..hope you are getting more skiffs of snow for Bootsie:)
