“Joy is what happens
to us when we allow
ourselves to
recognize
how good
things really are.”
I love this, it’s a simple quote, but so true.
I’m doing my best to recognize it, some days it harder then others.
Other days it’s so simple and abounding.
How is it for you?

I'm usually a happy person, and have joy in my life. But they are days....... when its not so joyful!!
ReplyDeleteLately feeling the blues more than joy. And these sleepless nights are exhausting.
ReplyDeleteI am with you in trying to recognize it...I recently had a bad fight with my mother who cannot recognize joy in her life right now...but going through our feelings is necessary just not wallowing in them...I will remember this and try to help her recognize the joys around her and me. Thanks Jen...such a lovely post!
ReplyDeleteFor me, I've found that gratitude is the doorway to joy.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Jen.
ReplyDeleteI love the elegance yet simplicity of it.
I suppose this is the season when joy is a word we tend to ponder more than we usually do. Perhaps it is the changing of the weather and we want to make sure we hang onto a feeling that is more resilient than happiness. It is funny, though, how I focused on it, too. :)
ReplyDeleteLove these photos! I find my joy in the Lord and in knowing he loves me even when I don't feel so joyful. I just think of His great love for me when I'm feeling down or sad and that joy is renewed. Enjoy the day. :)
ReplyDeleteI always say "You are as happy as you want to be". When I remember those words I am better able to put aside problems and feel the everyday joy in life.
ReplyDeletePlus I vent a lot so that helps lol.
Joy, to me, is knowing that God is in control and nothing happens beyond his control, even when things appear very bleak. Joy transcends our circumstances and gives us hope that everything will turn out right in the end.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful centerpiece, by the way. I'm going to do my best to copy it. :-)
Your photo’s today represent simple elegance to me. Contentment is what I seek at this time although sometimes when that sense of pure joy bubbles up unexpectedly it’s bliss. Have a joyfilled day, Jen.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures. Joyful.
ReplyDeleteJoy for me is knowing that God is all good, is in control, guiding and directing our lives, and is supplying all that we really need.
I'll share that I put together a few branches, evergreens, and lights in an empty planter, inspired by your post a few days ago. It looks great. Thanks for your ideas and beautiful pictures!
Joy is a peaceful feeling to me. It makes al the bad things seem just like the little things they ae.
ReplyDeleteLife is too short not to find JOY every single day!
ReplyDeleteOne moment of joy can lead to hours of contented bliss... so when we seek joy everyday through the simple things in life, then we will have contentment of our lives! Cheers.
ReplyDeleteI try so hard to realize how lucky I am to be where I'm at in my life. There are days, I kinda forget how much I have to be grateful for and that definitely takes the joy away.
ReplyDeleteMust try harder to not let that happen.
Judy
It's a great quote. I love your photos. Growing up, a neighbor had a tree with the itty bitty pinecones and I just loved them!
ReplyDeleteI am VERY joyful today Jen! My exam is done, Christmas parties are done, all that is left to do is a little Christmas baking! :) Oh yea, and wrapping presents.
ReplyDeleteYour photos bring me joy as well ~ have a happy week!
xo Catherine
Lovely photos so woodsy . I did my woodsy little crafts today ! I am up and down from day to day with the on off aching in the damp cold but hey that's the way it is for me .Have a good day !
ReplyDeleteJoy for me is Papa , my girls Miggs and Harley and all the nature around me and know our kids are well ! That's what gets me through each and every day !
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to say I do count my blessings everyday, and am going to try my best to find joy daily.
ReplyDeleteSame experience here, Jen. I seem to be getting better at it, but some days are harder than others. Joy to you, too!
ReplyDeleteI try to find joy, or look for it, in everything I do. Sadness can easily find me but I push it aside and look for the happiness. xo Diana

ReplyDeleteI try to keep a song in my heart and offer praises of thanksgiving each day...
