And just how much snow is that?

It snowed the day before 1-Snow and more snow-51

yesterday and then it

snowed yesterday, and

the two days before that

it snowed. We have a

good accumulation of

snow in case you are

wondering, well over

12 inches.

The weatherman is telling

all of those who complain

about it

that we are “due” and we

should have had this snow over the Christmas holidays.

2-Snow and more snow-54

My attitude is oh well, it snowed, what can you do about it?  Just don’t leave it laying around until April.

3-Snow and more snow-60

Becca from Patina Moon, who has recently moved from Vegas to Seattle, was mentioning that she would love to see some more snow shots, well I am happy to oblige, any time Becca, after all that’s what it does around here, it snows.

4-Snow and more snow-61

We are getting a warm spell for one day, and then it’s going to cool right down again…icy…just what we wanted.

5-Snow and more snow-62

The photo on the far right of my header was shown on the Global BC, Saturday morning news feature called Small Towns BC.  Viewers send in photos when their small town is picked, and they show it on the news. I was pretty happy to see mine in there, although we had to watch 2 hours of news to see it.

Winter, are you warming up to it yet?

  1. Good morning Jen. Your photos today are so beautiful!! What gorgeous scenery in your area. I love the blue bee hives with the pile of snow on them and the fence posts with their white toques. It's warming up to 2 today. Yay! The sunrise was beautiful and there is a haze over the valley. Just like in summer. Ha! Enjoy the day my friend. Blessings.

  4. Jen, we are smack dab in the middle of it and although I love love love this season, it is so cold this year! Highs in the teens and lows so low your nose hairs freeze. Happy to view it from my windows.

  5. I love the snowy pictures too!! Miss it!!! What I don't miss is trying to get around in the cold sloppy stuff!! Here in AZ it is suppose to get record breaking cold over the weekend. I hope we didn't waste our money coming out here for the winter!!!

  6. It is so beautiful. I love the field with the hay all covered in snow. Be careful with the ice. I am sure you know what you are doing. The only ice we get is in the freezer so I am not an expert for sure.

  8. It looks lovely. Of course, I don't have to shovel it or drive in it. :)

Here in Central Texas, we're finally getting some much needed rain. It's lovely, too.

    Stay warm.

  9. Ah Jen, finally, you are starting to look like us... it has snowed here for several days too, and we already had a lot! Must be telling on me as I've had a couple days of winter blues, trying to find some inspiration to write about something, or do something! One of those "winter snow piles" you just have to get over... Perhaps we need a competition to see who's got the most, LOL, or something else to break out of this melancholy mood! Cheers!

  10. It looks beautiful to me, but I don't live up there and have to deal with it for months. It is 81 and feels like it is 83, and humid. I'd love some cooler temps and hopefully we will get some before winter is over.

  11. Love the snow pictures, we on the other hand are having mostly rain; snow is prettier but I guess we don't have to shovel the rain. Love the picture of the fence posts piled high with snow.

  12. You take splendid shots of snow scenes with a touch of color. You might as well enjoy it. Before you know it, it will be too hot again. Looking forward to more winter scenes.

  13. Here in the interior of BC, we are getting snow, snow and snow as well. Although I woke up to torrential rain this morning and...swamps of water. I'm a little nervous because we are in for a freeze tonight too. Snow or ice - not much of a choice. Hoping the groundhog will bring better news in a few weeks. Stay warm!

  14. I love the snow. Until February. But we get so little of it here that I don't have to worry about that. Don't you find that snow brightens the landscape. Our dark rain just sucks the light out of everything.

    Your photos are gorgeous.

  15. Photos are just beautiful - as always. I don't know what I would do if we had that much snow. Do you have that much every winter? YUK!

It's cold here and rainy but not cold enough to freeze - thank goodness.

    Keep up the beautiful pics.

  16. That’s a lot of snow, Jen. Congrats on your newsworthy photo pick. When we moved to Alaska in the middle of winter I thought it would be fun for my then grammar school daughter to have a weather calendar . . . duh. Wishing you an early thaw.

  17. What a wonderful blog you have here! Beautiful captures & I'm lovin all the snow... we rarely get that much snow here in southeast Missouri, so your snow shots are welcome, esp w/ such HUGE mountains as a backdrop - Gorgeous =)

  18. Here, we are having a warm spell and the snow that fell right after Christmas is melting away. Rain is forecast for the weekend, if you can believe it! I guess I will just try to enjoy the mild temperatures while they last!

  19. Yep, there is a LOT of snow around these parts! Tell Becca we'd be glad to export some to her in Seattle if she'd like! Congratulations on having your photograph shown on Global Jen, sorry I missed it, I didn't realize they were featuring your neck of the woods. Love that segment when they share all of the beautiful places in our wonderful province! Fabulous photos as always and hope you are able to dig out from under! Deb

  20. Do nas też zawitała zima, ale tak dużo śniegu nie ma. Pięknie u Ciebie jest wszystko ośnieżone. Pozdrawiam.
To us it had established winter, but it does not have a lot of snow. Beauty in you is all snow. Yours.

  21. I just found your blog and love it. Your photographs are beautiful! I'm lousy at landscapes, but you really are talented. And your macros in other posts are stunning as well.
Ah snow. We've had a few dustings, but that's about it (not that I'm complaining).

  22. Congratulations on having your photo aired on tv! While you were getting snow, we were getting wind - 40 mph. I'd say it blew our snow over to you, but it was going the other direction. We're actually above zero today, but it's expected to drop significantly over the next few days.

  23. Just found your blog via Elephant's Eye. LOVE that last photo..so beautiful. Adore the shot of the hives ! Mine are under snow, but not for long..calling for 60's this weekend. Just enough for me to slip some "bee candy" in if I play my cards right!

  24. All of your photos are wonderful, but the photo of the snow caps on the fence posts is my favorite.

Your snow storm is headed this way and is supposed to hit tonight or tomorrow. Thanks for sharing!

  26. The snow on top of the fence posts is amazing! I've seen icicles blown sideways on fences. Bbbrrr! That is COLD! Wonderful photos and congrats on having one featured! Hugs!

  27. We have heavy snowfall warnings out for today here in Saskatchewan. While it does make for beautiful winter photos, I wouldn't mind some green grass again! ;)

    Keep warm my friend!

  28. I am awaiting the next foot...the 4 feet is melting this week with a few days of sun which is unheard of...but after this weekend I think we will be 'due' again! Looks lovely

  29. Jen, your snow photos are just beautiful. I have given up on snow here and am just enjoying the warmer temps. Stay warm my friend.

  30. I still have that feeling that we are "due" some real snow. Just traces on the ground right now. Still time to get walloped by a blizzard or two like we were last year, however.
