Hair cuts, folk remedies..and other life mysteries

Life is perplexing, and 1-Paperwhites-1818

intertwined with such

mysterious events that

sometimes we just have

to shake our heads at

the wonder of it all.

Why on earth does your

hair look marvellous the

day you get it cut?

What’s with that, the weeks

before the appointment you

struggle, well at least I do…

and if your stylist

is sick and cancels your

appointment, and you’ve left it a lot too long between sessions…I guess that you would deserve to have your

hair look like a cross between a rat’s nest, and a flock of birds for the last few weeks.

Why do birds poop on your vehicle in the middle of winter when there isn’t any unfrozen water to clean it off with…is that the gratitude we get for feeding them all winter?

And why is it that when you finally manage to make a Doctor’s appointment, the symptoms go away, and you seriously consider cancelling it…but you know if you do they will come back?  How many times has that happened to you?

Folk remedies…someone in my Mom’s building swears by celery seed for sore feet. After having Plantar Fasciitis [sore feet] for much too long, I’m willing to try anything.  They work, kind of…go figure, well at least they work if you eat lot’s and lot’s of them. I’m experimenting with eating celery to see if it works also.  I am trying to replace potato chips with celery…both are crunchy, one is salty, and tastes great, I’ll let you know how that one works out.

Parking spots, why is it when you spy a open spot at the store, someone always comes along and grabs it before you can get closer?  Ever had that happen to you?

Speaking of parking, with the snow gradually leaving many of the driving population are floored to find out that there are actual lines denoting parking spots in the lots.  Shockingly enough, they still park any which way they can. No excuse anymore.

Any of life’s little perplexing mysteries bothering you lately?

The Man Cold?

Word press, or Blogger?

Is it possible to share the TV remote control?

And my most perplexing…will we ever agree on a temperature for the house?  It’s either too hot, or too cold.

  4. If we knew the answers to these problems we would have world peace and a civilization on Mars...lol My hair ALWAYS looks great the day I get it cut and then it is too short for 2 weeks. And the dreaded Man cold....sheesh...lol. Loved your post Jen!

  5. Fun and interesting topics today Jen. I guess I've experienced them all too. But not the celery seed for sore feet. I never heard that one before! I always look for 'drive through' parking spots and it's very annoying when someone comes in the other side just before I can get turned in. Such is life. Have an enjoyable week! Pam

  7. You've given me plenty to think of. Let's see....I have one. You eat a little less one day trying to keep your weight in check....and the next day you weigh more! If you exercise AND eat less...you'll weigh EVEN more! heehee! Enjoy your week! Don't worry!

  8. Four celery sticks a day will get your cholesterol away! This is what my sister says. I'm sure she knows what to do for sore feet, but she'd need more info!
    Take care, Jen!

  10. Perhaps there is a useful paradox in not being satisfied. Feeling as if the things in life are never quite right can be a great motivator for trying out different foods, temperatures and styles. :)

  11. I agree with Heather, Jen .. Murphy's Law , especially connected to anyone with an Irish surname .. no luck of the Irish is a constant usually ?LOL
All of those things happen .. but at least you know you have company .. does that help at all ? haha
Sick of winter and more bad weather on the way .. BIG sigh !
Nice pictures of "life" happening over at your place girl!
    Joy : )

  12. Haha...I think all this just falls into the category of 'Life'.
All those little things....they can really add up to annoy you.

  13. Oh yes, Murphy at his best!

The car doesn't make the strange sound when the mechanic test drives it. The computer doesn't have a glitch when the "genius" is at the keyboard. I could go on and on.

  17. Life certainly is full of perplexities. I laughed at the parking lot one - so true! But not here where we get little snow (and NONE this year).

  18. Jen - yes, those are all things that I bet have happened to everyone of us at some point and time.

  19. It doesn't seem possible to turn on our TV without the remote control This morning I hunted round for a switch. There wasn't one. I could turn the volume up and down, I could change channels - but not turn it on. I eventually found the remote control rammed down between a cushion and the frame of a chair. What's wrong with On/Off switches? That's one of my perplexities.

  22. I am behind on my blogging. Sorry. Just too much to do. Celery seeds? I pictured them in the shoe, but eating them? Hmmm. Your flowers do put us in the mood for spring. Thanks.

  23. LOL- You have touched on a lot of the things that have happened to me- except for the celery seed- can't say I have tried that CURE for anything yet- xo Diana

  24. Oh, what amazing and gorgeous shots!

So many questions, too little time... ;-)

  25. Ahhhhh!!! Life's little mysteries. However, some things like the parking are just plain rudeness. I love it when they see you waiting for a space and then they whip in and hurry out of their car like they don't see you. As for the birds, we call those bird games. It's winter. they're bored :)

  26. Your paperwhites are beautiful..love those jars!
I need a haircut too..wish I could do it myself..:)

  27. I think the answer to all of your questions all go back to the reason why the surest way to ensure a sunny day is to remember your umbrella. Good luck with the celery.

  28. You've tapped into things we all understand:) We had a foot of snow on Sunday and yesterday I parked in a row all by myself because I didn't want to deal with the "hidden line" problem. Before I knew it I was surrounded by cars who decided it was the best place to park. I blame it on my red car ~ it draws people.

  29. How interesting about the folk remedy for your foot woes. I've had PF over the years a few times, so painful and annoying.

Life is full of small mysteries, so true. Lovely post Jen!
