Reality:In philosophy, reality
is the state of things as
they actually exist rather
than as they may appear
or might be imagined.
re·al·i·ty
[ree-al-i-tee] Noun
Reality, cold hard facts.
Real stuff.
Real….hmmmmm right.
Well who wants to live in reality
when you can live in a not real
world where it’s always your
favourite season, at least until
you look out the window and
notice it’s snowing.
Or maybe you would like to live like the Boo, where it’s always meal time..at least in his reality.
And despite his doing his best to convince us that it’s always meal time, he does have to wait.
Spring is making me wait, as I look out the window of reality into yet another day of snow falling in my garden, well I think there is a garden under that white mound.
Who can blame me for not wanting to live in reality..it’s cold, some days it’s dark, gloomy, and snowy. Well at least there are birds in reality..feeding frantically because of the snow. Birds, and bills, and phone calls, chores, and laundry, and what’s for dinner?
Now why do I have to live in reality again? If I live in my world, there are only flowers blooming, a gardener’s heart that is overflowing, spring abounding. The perfect garden in a perfect world…no muss, no fuss, no bugs…no water restrictions…
I think I have some gardening to do in my not so real world…wish me dirty hands, and a happy heart.
And then I will come back to reality and make dinner.

Lovely photos and post ! My reality in my world is lots of sunshine , Cool breezes , just enough rain , lots of gardening, watching and listening to birdies and critters and nature walks with my Miggs . Oh I already do most of this lol so I guess my reality dream is my reality ! Have a good day !
ReplyDeleteOh I am loving your world, I find it pretty easy these days to slip to those worlds myself. Beautiful pics. B
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos, Jen! I think I'll keep looking at them instead of looking out my window at all the snow coming down! Have a great weekend. :-)
ReplyDeleteMy reality is similar to yours too Jen. I'm bringing pops of spring colour into my decor now just to relieve the doldrums of February/March. Yes, March is another long month of snow and cold here and we won't see any outdoor colour until May. Sigh....
ReplyDeleteLovely photos . . .
ReplyDeleteI like YOUR reality a bit more than the "I am so over it" reality of what we are facing today. Snow, like tons of it . . . over night. It keeps piling up and up and up! I am dreaming of a glimpse of my Helebores which are my first spring bloomers. They are covered under three plus feet of snow.
Spring will come . . . it will come . . . it will come . . .
and that is my reality today . . .
Beautiful photos Jen!! I am so excited for Spring that is just around the corner. It seems like we wait, and wait, and wait and then BOOM!! it's here and I'm scrambling to get beds ready and plant and weed and water and Summer hits and it all burns up...whoa..didn't mean to be a downer...let's just keep it happy in dream world...:)
ReplyDeleteMay you have dirty hands and a happy heart...:)
Can I visit you in your dream world? Lovely Jen, and stunning photos! Cheers~
ReplyDeleteThere was a report on local news last night about winter blues. My comment was that it's still early, we have quite a bit of winter to go yet. In the meantime I am enjoying your colorful photos and thoughts of spring.
ReplyDeleteI love your world!! and 'perception is reality'
ReplyDeleteYour images are stunning, Jen!
ReplyDeletewhat a treat this is Jen. oh so pretty! thanks for brightening up my morning.
ReplyDeleteReality is a dirty word, isn't it?? We had snow overnight. Pooh!
ReplyDeleteThese pictures of beautiful flowers are stunning! It's hard to beat nature's unfolding of colorful buds, reaching for the sun. The colors in your photos fill the void of color in the winter months. It's nice to keep these in the mind's eye today.
ReplyDeleteReality is starting seeds and waiting for one amaryllis to open as we drag ourselves slowly to spring...
ReplyDeleteWe just have rain and soggy, and muddy. At times I miss the snow and the peace. Robins have started appearing and the birds are twittering so much that I think they will become twitterpated before long. Love your blog.
ReplyDeleteOh-Yeah- It's the crash landing back into Reality that gets you, isn't it? Your images are gorgeous- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteDream on Jen!!
ReplyDeleteJudy
Mealtime is good. :) But, I think I'd rather live in Maui.
ReplyDeleteP.S. I don't know how I missed it, but just read the post on FANG SHUI for CATS...I got such a good chuckle from it. I think your cat is happy you're catching up and appreciating what he's known to be true for some time! Ha.
ReplyDeleteBoy do I feel THIS post.. I feel exactly the same way! I miss looking out the window and seeing green and flowers.. Your photos were beautiful. Thank you for sharing them :) ..
ReplyDeleteP.S. I wonder if you could help me? If you have time, could you pop on over to my blog and give an opinion on my post about blog etiquette? I had a question and I'd love some answers from seasoned bloggers. Thanks so much :)
Robyn
Ah, that's my world, too! Except maybe it's summer instead of spring. I'm soaking in the sun and colorful blooms from your post. ;-)
ReplyDeleteLove the drops of water on the flowers. Tulips, aren't they? So beautiful.
ReplyDeleteBrenda
Reality is overrated I think :)
ReplyDeleteI'm tired of reality and could use a vacation to somewhere exotic. I have a giant computer on the wall in my classroom called a Smartboard. I changed the background to a field of sunflowers just for a bit of blue sky in my windowless classroom. My teensy "greenhouse" is helping feed my gardening bug.
ReplyDeleteStunning photos! You musta bought yourself some flowers! We had snow again today too..I try to ignore it:)
ReplyDeleteThese photos are just gorgeous, Jen. Who needs reality when the alternative is so much more fun.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Laura
Isn't that what garden catalogs are for?
ReplyDeleteYou really do take such wonderful photos. The tulips just sing to me.
