When winter gets me down

6-2010 12 30_0401

When winter gets me down

and when I think it’s all just

not going to end any time soon

when each snowy day seems to

last forever, I search my

photography archives to remind

myself that winter isn’t going

to last all the time.

That spring will return, that

the gardens will show up again.

Blue skies will prevail.

In my archives I can find photos

that make my heart sing, bring

a smile to my face, and great memories.

1-2010 12 30_0396

Days of amazing photo ops..sunny crisp, cold, and feathered friends.

2-2010 12 30_0414

Hot pink mittens, cold frosty breath…and bird seed.

True perfect winter memories.

4-2010 12 30_0427

And I know that it won’t last forever

it can’t last forever.  Spring will have

it’s turn..but for now it’s winter’s show.

3-2010 12 30_0425

And the show is almost at a end.

  3. I really enjoy seeing your photos and these today were amazing. It is almost March - ours looks like it will come in like a lion so it can hopefully go out like a lamb :-)

  4. Jen you need to publish a coffee table book. You take the most amazing photos. The pink glove with the bird is so pretty. I am hoping spring makes it there for you soon. I live in such a different climate it is hard for me to imagine.

  6. Beautiful pics Jen. I love the bright pink mittens and of course hand feeding the chickadee. What variety of chickadee is that with the rust on it? It's a beautiful sunny day here and calm - no wind and zero Celsius. I should get out with my camera. Enjoy the day.

  19. I love the pictures of the birds on your glove. Especially the one landing!
I need to go through my pics. Need some color. At least the new snow made it brighter outside though.
As always I just LOVE your photos.

  25. Your Chickadees look a little different than ours. Ours don't have that rusty color. I have been trying to photograph ours..they are very skittish. Lovely photos..:)

  30. Chickadees are so friendly. They have great personalities, though I have never been able to get one to eat from my hand.

  31. Gorgeous photos. Here in Southeast Texas I can't relate to endless winters, but my heart goes out to those who have them and don't want them. (Come on down to Texas!)

As for spring, yes, it will come, and nothing can stop it.

  36. Beautiful. Your chickadees have different coloring than ours. My husband is the bird feeder in our house, through an actual feeder he can see from the window, and he liked these photos.
